New way to cure Mummy's Curse?
« on: September 24, 2011, 07:59:03 AM »
I read on a website (not this one, it wasn't nearly as trustworthy) that if your sim meditates for a while when they have the Mummies Curse, then they will lose the curse.
Has anybody done this, and if so, did it work? It'll be a lot easier meditating for four hours than remembering you have no Snake Charming skill and skilling for who knows how long.

If nobody else is going to, I'll test it today.
I hadn't heard about that before.

Doesn't sound right to me, because meditating for 4 hours isn't much.

If you test it Seabody, I'd like to know; because it takes awhile to reach the right level of snake charming.

I was trying to test this but my game started freezing and it wasn't working at all so I'm not going to be able too.

It doesn't sound right to me, either.  Something like that would have come out long ago if it's true.

I recently read on the EA forums that mediatating in the Scholar's Garden can remove the Mummy's curse

For how long? Do you have to have "needs static"?

I found the thread and, for you first question, it doesn't say, but you don't need to have you needs static.  It also lists a couple other ways.  Here is the link, http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/145394.page

Edit: I just tested it and it didn't work.  Could someone else test it, please?

I have experienced once long time ago. But I can't remember whether my Sims did it in the Scholar Garden or somewhere else.
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

I highly doubt this is true, it would have been known about ages ago if it was, 4 hours in meditation allows a Sim to zeneport not cure The Mummy's Curse as far as I know.

I have just created an adventurer, if he gets cursed and is able to meditate, I will test this out, I have plans for him to learn Martial Arts anyway.  :P

Perhaps they are mixing it up with meditating at the Soulpeace statue to remove the curse. Because when you go to the Soulpeace statue to be cured the sim sits in a meditation position.

This is not the first time I've heard this, however I don't recall where I did hear it...it was a long time ago.  I've never had the opportunity to test any of the curse removal processes, because I've never had a Sim get cursed.
