Pre-ordering the digital download of Pets
« on: September 23, 2011, 03:33:03 AM »
Has anyone done this? I've tried to pre-order it through Origin via the Sims 3 website but whenever I get to the end of the payment procedure it says 'payment authorisation failure.' I've no idea what I'm doing wrong and have tried with more than one credit card. I have to get the digital download version due to living in the Far East so I can't get a physical copy sent to me unless I had it sent to the UK but I'd have to wait until I went back at Christmas to get it and I don't want to wait that long! I know too that I don't have to pre-order but I've been sucked in and I want the limited edition items!!

Does anyone know of anywhere else that I could pre-order the digital version?

Thanks

Do you have someone who lives in the U.K that would be willing to send the physical copy to you?
You could, for instance, have it mailed to a relation who would send it on to you.

I did think about that but where I am, parcels get regularly checked and you're not supposed to import games. Also parcels have a tendancy to go missing here. Very frustrating. Thanks for your reply though.

You might be able to pre-order with Origin still. Go to profile.ea.com and check your addresses listed there. If they don't match the billing address you're using in Origin, you will get the payment authorisation failure message.

You can change your addresses at profile.ea.com whenever you want, so if you need to change the address back, you can. I think you should keep it, however, until your card is actually billed when the game is released. Hope it works for you.

Just an edit to say, I had this problem when trying to order Sims Medieval. It kept telling me it couldn't authorize the card, but my addresses at profile.ea.com didn't match. I changed them and it worked.

I've preordered it. Now I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I only got a email that the order got invalid, because they (Origin) didn't get a payment yet. But if I did send a payment, which I did, I could ignore the mail.
I'm hoping everything was alright. Otherwise I don't know if I can buy the Limited Edition. I just want that one.

Thanks for your advice Nonomena, sorry I haven't replied sooner. I tried all of that but it still hasn't worked. I emailed customer services last week about it and finally got a reply yesterday to say try another method of payment as they don't know the reason so I tried using Paypal but still no joy so I've emailed them back again!! If I get no joy I'll just have to console myself with the normal edition.

Leto, have you received confirmation that you've got the limited edition version yet? Hope you've had more success than me!

They send me a message back that they have approved one order and removed the other, as I had accidentially bought two versions.
I've checked the Origin program today and saw in the 'Show: All Games' part that I can play The Sims 3, and install the Create a Pet Demo but the Sims 3 Limited Edition is still mentioned as Unreleased. As that game also is in the 'Show: All Games' field I assume that is my confirmation.
But I also wanted to send EA a message but saw I couldn't. The only two options I had was chatting or calling. Perhapst they've changed it, or they've changed it only in Holland.

Good luck with your pre-ordering. Maybe you need to check the Origin program as well?
