Do skills gained on vacation count towards my Ambitions professions?

In the Ambitions professions (eg. Firefighter, Architectural Designer) only skills gained while you are in the profession apply towards promotion. If my Sim has joined an Ambitions profession but improves his skills while on vacation, does this skill improvement apply towards my Sim's promotion?

The skills gained don't increase the promotion bar for the job; but any skills gained help in the skills bars. For instance, if you need a certain level of Athletics for your job; then you can improve that by doing Martial Arts.

Ced, answer is no, you can't get promotions or do anything job related on vacation (like catching spirits), so it's a waste of time when you're progressing in Ambitions professions.

MoMoll, Ced asked about Ambitions profession where you do get increased job performance and promotions while learning related skill. You can get up to level 7 or 8 in Ghost hunter profession, just by studding logic until you max it.

You can't do anything specific to an Ambitions profession while on vacation, such as catch spirits, investigate, or perform a make over.  However, if a skill like Logic or Athletics happens to also be part of an Ambitions profession, it will count once you return home.

I mentioned it doesn't increase the job promotion; but any atheletics, or other skills required to increase your job performance can be increased while traveling and help toward your promotion.
