Some questions
« on: September 20, 2011, 05:10:22 AM »
When you evict a sim from a house, does food stay in the refrigerator/food replicator? Do books stay in the bookshelf?
When you upload a sim to share, do items stay in their inventory? (If so, I'm looking for a sim with a perfect completed collection)
Which skills are affected by the library moodlet, and which are affected by the gym moodlet? (and if so, is the gym thing fixed?)

By evict, do you mean in Edit Town?

Yes, in edit town, otherwise their furniture gets packed up with them, right?

You can evict just the household and not the furniture. I do this when I want a particular house, then I have the option to buy furnished or unfurnished.

Which skills are affected by the library moodlet, and which are affected by the gym moodlet?

That's a good question about the library and its effects on learning skills.  Any reading happens faster at the library, so studying at the library increases the speed of learning any skill that can be learned from a book.  Including the toddler skill books, which can be read very quickly at the library.  But I've never tried having a Sim practice a non-reading skill at the library, so I don't know if, for example, a musical Sim would learn to play the guitar faster there or not.  Has anyone tried this?

Their personal inventory stays intact, though I'm not 100% sure about the family inventory.

In the library, a Sim will read twice as fast as normal.  The toddler books are even faster than that, at literally a minute or two in Sim time.

The gym is supposed to increase the ability to learn the Athletic skill.  It was bugged for a long time and was much slower than using the equipment at home.  It was fixed to an extent so that your Sim skill quicker, but still not as fast as doing it at home.  Beyond that, I haven't heard anything else about it and every time I test it, the results are the same.

The family inventory is gone.

Well, nobody mentioned anything, so in a while I'll be uploading a sim who has completed all the collections (tomb collections might take a while) with all ancient relics. Sofar I've completed Dangerous Creatures and Canopic Jars. Yay! :D (Of course, since it is for decorating and uploading purposes, I'm not playing for real. Cheat, cheat, cheat lol. I've placed lots of dig sites in the park in sunset valley, and just excavating til I find them all.
