I have played with the shy trait but I can't remember if other sim know it. The no sense of humor trait other sims can't learn. When I go in my game later I will test the shy trait for you
I would have thought that the no sense of humor trait would be an easy one to learn. Just tell a lot of jokes.

Oh okay. I was thinking that logically what I said would make sense but I guess the game doesn't think like that.  ;D
Someone should make a list of traits that are very hard/impossible to learn that another sim has.

I made two sims one shy, angler, love the outdoors, lucky and eco friendly. The other shy, green thumb, loves the outdoors, nurturing and no sense of humor. They know three traits from the start, she learned after one good talk that he is lucky but I have them fall in love and get married and they still don't know each other is shy and I don't think they ever will.  So shy and no sense of humor they can't learn.

I don't know if it would come out in normal conversation but you can learn the No Sense of Humor trait by telling jokes.
I brought a new sim into the house with no sense of humor and learned the trait after telling him 3 jokes. I tried it again making another sim to bring in and learned he had the trait after 4 jokes.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

Of course that won't work when the other sim has the Charismatic trait, as they will never be dull.
This is about the No Sense of Humor trait.

What about when there are too many sims around that they don't know? Do they get some sort of friendly social to express their social anxiety? After all, they can express embarrassment, and express fear of the dark...

My Sims have learned the No Sense of Humor trait many times.  If I try a funny interaction, it pops right up.

Maybe you can find it, the shy trait was introduced with LN to be opposite to star quality, so maybe if you do something celebrity related, the will learn the shy trait, like maybe celebrity gossip or something, I have never tested shy, so can't be sure of anything

I just read on the Sims wiki that the Shy trait cannot be discovered not even by mind reading.

I just read on the Sims wiki that the Shy trait cannot be discovered not even by mind reading.

Wiki actually says 'Sims can't discover this trait if another has it even if you try mind-reading', so there is a good chance that the Shy trait can be discovered in a Sim if the other Sim is not shy.

Hmm… I interpret that differently than you mtglady. I think it means that they cant learn if another sim has it no matter what.

An appropriate comma would help in the interpretation of what Sims Wiki says.
