Lol.. I feel like I'm digging myself an even bigger hole here, so I'll just shut up!

As for your little house.... I've had to reinstall my entire game.... 4 times.... in the last 2 days. Sigh. So I'm currently in the middle of hopefully the last time I install it. I'll download your house as soon as it's installed. It'll probably look great in Lunar Lakes. I'm guessing that's what you made it for?

I believe Lunar Lake wasnt announced at the moment I had build and uploaded this house. I've just made it because I wanted to build something scy-fy. It had to be a starters home and vanilla which made it pretty difficult to do.

Ah cool. Well it certainly fits in Lunar Lakes - even if you didn't intend for it due to it not being released yet. Nice job!

(...)
Cons: This is a personal issue with me, and I assume that most people won't have a problem with it.  I hate the graphics associated with the scientific upgrades.  The flashing, pulsing, and sparkling gets on my nerves in seconds.  For what it's worth, I have trouble with many repetitve visual stimuli.  Seeing strobe effects in movies, for example, sometimes make me feel pretty queasy.  Even though it killed the amazing 40+ decorated moodlet, I had to delete and replace the enhanced objects, replicating the style of the orginals as best as I could manage.

Another very small issue, no room for a computer desk inside, and always like my sims to have one at home..  But one can be placed outside, so not a big issue at all (I think.  I placed it on a 10X15 lot).
(...)

Ah yes, I remember I had one post here which I wanted to answer.
In build mode, you can also copy the whole furniture without the scientific upgrade so you won't have the flashing and pulsing anymore yet you will have an exact copy of the furniture.
I am pretty sure that if you switch around with the furniture inside clever enough that there is room for a computer desk. I'm not sure why I haven't include one, but I assume it was the budget now I think of it.
Thanks for the helpful critique. I think people here should do that more often. ;)

Ah, I didn't even think of using the eyedropper tool to copy. I guess I just assumed it would copy the upgrades too.  Thanks for the info!  And you might be right about the desk, I'll play around with it.  I really do like the layout and look of the place.  I just wish the issue with the upgrades wasn't a problem for me.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I know for me I'm a bit nervous to critique people's work because I'm never sure how they'll take it. But I'll remember from now on that you're ok with it :)

Well actually, we have a rule that you don't give critique on builds unless the builder has specifically asked for it.

Okay then....

What I like about it: It's so futuristic and modern. Minimilist. Clean bold lines and fresh colours. It's not cluttered. I could see my futuristic Sim living there quite comfortably. And the house would not look out of place in Lunar Lakes. In fact, I intend on adding it to my Lunar Lakes game! It doesn't look too expensive, which is good because my Sim wouldn't need to save up forever before moving in.  :D

What I don't like about it: The lack of greenery in the yard. I'd probably add some plants, and now with the semi-new futuristic plants available in the base game, they'd be a perfect addition. I'd probably also search the store for all the futureshock stuff to make it that much more out of this world.

That said, I realise you said you made this before Lunar Lakes came out, so you probably haven't got that far yet ;)

Just my opinions :)

A garden would be an excellent addition indeed. Especially with those plants you've described (which didn't exist yet at the moment I've build this place). But, will that not outreach the minimum capital a sim will start with? It was a must that any starter sim could fit right in.

Possibly, if this house was built for a competition with a funds limit, but I don't think those trees are very expensive. I seem to recall that they're at the very beginning of the list in the catalogue. And also, there are purple flowers available for only §1. A few of those wouldn't have broken the bank (unless your build was right to the limit) hehe ;)

But... having said all that, they're easy enough to put in, so anyone downloading the house could add their own garden etc :D

ps: I'm just a garden nut. I fail at real life gardens, so I love creating the perfect gardens in The Sims where the plants can't die ;)

In that case, why don't you build your own garden onto this lot and upload a picture with your result here, hm? Right here.
