Placing tents on a lot

I was wanting to add a community fishing camp to my current game and set tents for sims to use if they wanted like the ones set up at base camp in Egypt.

I thought this would be as easy as using buydebug, getting a tent and placing it the lot. But when I try to place the tents it's a rolled version like when it's in your inventory.

Is there a way to place the tent already set up and ready to use?

You can have an active sim from your game set up the tents and just leave them there for anyone that needs to use them.  I did this for one of the recent challenges.

Ha ha. Yeah, I've told Pam and Carl that "Mobile living" is one the techniques I've employed in the recent challenges. It was especially key for the handiness one.

Thanks, Wasn't sure if others would use them if my sim just bought a bunch of tents and set them up on the lot since they would belong to him and not the community lot. I'll give that a try then.

Love the tent that you can buy in Egypt from the special merchant, the one that lets you "sleep like a king/queen/prince/princess"!

You can buy that "special" tent in all three locations in WA.  They are just labeled differently in each location, but are all available from the Special Merchant.

I'm sure I saw someone post the exact same question recently, but today I was browsing some CAW threads, and found this:

It seems that these are CAW objects and you can get a mod to unlock them. HOWEVER, if you download a lot that has them already, you can use them without the mod. I heard that the mailbox was recently unlocked, so maybe the tents were as well, if not, there is this As for tents, if you didn't want the download, you could copy an EA lot from WA to your bin, and then use them that way. Of course with either method, you would need to place the lot first, and then build.
