Sim Death on free vacation?

I let the adult in the family go on a free vacation, figured that it went well the first time.
Shortly after she left I got the message "DayCare Van sold due to Sim death" there is still the grey picture but how do I know if she really is dead?
I think I can get her a new in buydebug if she returns but how do I know?

The Adult Vacations are about 2 Days so if the Sim in question does not return by then, well this odd glitch will have killed your Sim, I have not heard about this before, do you have a save before the vacation or a back-up so you can reject the vacation?

Luckily enough she came back, I had to buy her a new van but they are pretty cheap! I forgot to save before the vacation, must be more careful and save more often!

Always make a Back-Up save somewhere else on your computer every week if that family means a lot to you, that way you'll have checkpoints to avoid bugs that mess up the file.

Thinking about it now I think I have had something like this, before Generations and I got really upset/worried and then the sim came back so I got even more confused, Lol.
