Can't move sim to empty house...

I am playing sims 3 on xbox 360 and I'm having this problem where there is this house, it's empty I have a ton of cash but for some reason I can't move them into that house. I can move them into the house across from it (which is already occupied) but not the empty one. I tried it with a different family as well and I still can't move them into that specific house. Is there only certain houses that can be moved into or something?

No I made sure. A friend lived across the street to the house that I wanted to move into and when I went to visit her, I checked out the other house and it said the house was empty. Someone now lives there but I still can't kick them out and move into it.

No unfortunately there isn't.

Mmm… maybe it's just a bad glitch. Try stalking the house for a while to see if anyone is there even if hey arent supposed to be.

I have xobox 36o version too - you can only move into some houses - I don;t know why, the house shouldn't be empty - the only only empty house on my game is my old house.

Maybe you have to unlock the house or something. I know on Sims 3 pets you have to do that with some houses, but your talking about Sims 3. I really don't have an answer

Hi, I am playing the playstation version of the game (The Sims 3) and I have moved into just about every house available before.  The two versions are nearly the same.  What is the address of the house that you are trying to move into?

Make sure you have enough money for the house.  Clear your sim family's inventory, sell anything you don't need.  If you have too many items in there (such as books, old newspapers, fruit, insects, etc.), you will be prompted to sell them or delete them before you can arrive at the new place.

I've seen that happen in The Sims 3 Pets for PS3.  I wanted lived next door to a neighbor and I wanted his house when he died.  He died and I tried to move into his house and it wouldn't let me. 

I'm wondering if some houses are reserved for the next townies who move in.  Meaning your sim cannot move there.   It said no one lived in the house too.

Grim is right. There are many houses you just can't move into empty or not on the console. The only one I can remember that had to be unlocked before you can move in is that haunted one in Pets.

The houses are un-editable too unfortunately and there are 2 unlock-able houses by the way (goth manor and the gilman farm house) 1 you have to do the cat mystery and in the other one you have to catch 50 ghosts (with cats and ghost zappers doesn't have to be all with one sim.
