I checked both the doors and windows sections... Nothing that contains the word "cottage" in it. They looked really cool. There are alike windows however, so they may have thought it was a waste of space.

Just going by your description (all caps + numbers) makes me think that they were not an EA creation but user made. Is it possible you got them from a house you downloaded at some point?

I always thought that name was very odd, too! But it had very "EA style" item description (can't remember what it said tho), and I have never ever downloaded any houses/sims/furniture/building materials from anywhere... Only EA store hair and clothes. And I have a faint memory it didn't have that "custom" or store icon on it on the buy mode.

The name was COTTAGE something, written in caps and the name included some numbers.

That sounds very much like a 3rd party custom content name to me.  EA doesn't do names in capslock or include seemingly random numbers in item names.

But they do look rather nice, none the less.

Yeah, my sims may think that they control their own destinies, but I've got news for them. I am the only one that controls what they do. So that's very scary haha. Who controls me?

I haven't installed the new patch yet because apparently here were some problems with it. So my Sim parents still don't seem to understand that their baby isn't a doll.
