Wow... I always leave my gnomes outside (they're garden gnomes, right?) so I haven't seen them messing with my appliances or anything like that...

I did get a nice shot of a Sim having a "virtual" zero-G experience.

Her husband seems to be confused by the situation....

I leave my gnomes outside, too.  In the garden, in fact.  But they move around on their own and cause mischief.

They pop up in odd places.  I've gotten them from fishing and from sending gems to be cut.  The fisherman reels in a box that contains any number of things, including magic gnomes.  And sometimes a gem comes back as a gnome.  It's pretty funny.  They sell for $1,000 each, so it's good money, too.

I haven't got a magic gnome either.  My girl got a gnome fishing and it was yellow with a white hat-- he never did anything.

I got a couple of those in China, they flank my front entrance waving everyone hello :)

My Gnome Count is now up to 3, Otis, Andres and Pierre, but they're about to get sold off because they party too much.  One of them moved to the garden and passed out weeks ago, hasn't moved since.  I got one via fishing, the other two were rocks I picked up off the ground (in China and France I think) and when I sent them to get cut come to find out they were gnomes.  I know for a fact that one of them was a citrine but I'm not sure that it matters.

What happens if you kick them?  Do they get mad?  They're so cute I don't have the heart :(

I got my yellow dude before I got WA.  Mine is also by the front door.  I think I have about 8 or so at my Sim house.  Can't wait to get one that moves about.  Remember the gnomes in the 1st Sims in Makin Magic you could make do your gardening.  I would love love love that in Sims 3.  I have a bit of a gnome addiction in real life too.

Sounds like you got the "Sleeping Gnome".  They just sit there, and are pretty cheaply available in buy mode as lawn ornaments.

The "Magic Gnomes" are the fun ones, and are a completely different item.

I have about 8 or 9, seems they move more right when you get them, like the first couple of days, after that then they just quit moving, but it is so funny when they do move around.  They watch tv, listen to radio, one of mine was watching fish in pond.  Someone said if you kick them, then stand them up, then they will move again, not sure, but I can't seem to bring myself to just go kick them either, LOL.........

Maybe the social worker will come then and take your gnomes because you abused them!

Just a funny little thing...

I recently added a Mummy to my family for the first time.  This dude is hilarious, although his slow movements kinda annoy me.  Whenever he has nothing else to do he goes straight to the stereo and dances like crazy!  And then when he died of old age the grim reaper came and they shook hands like they were old buddies. :P

I have yet to acquire a mummy and doubt that I will...the way they move reminds me of the zombies from TS2 and those things just creeped me out!  :o

My first magical gnome seemed to go on frequent benders on my Sims bar and would suffer the consequences!  :D  He eventually stopped moving and chose the bar as his last stance, but I moved him out to the garden as he took up valuable bar space at the parties!  ;)

Some of you may already know this, but I wondered why my Sims picnic basket would close up on it's own or when I tried to get them to join a picnic in the Park, no options were available...then I did a close up and saw this...
