How to marry a paparazzi?
« on: September 08, 2011, 11:35:39 AM »
I'm trying to hook my sim to a certain paparazzi... I had very hard time trying to befriend him, and had to use a cheat in the end. I maxed their friendship bar, and after that I was able to make them love interests. But I'm not getting the option to go steady, or the "ask to move in" interaction under Friendly. Is there a way to have a relationship with a paparazzi, or otherwise add them into the household? Without cheats. (I never ever before used cheats but I did it once with this guy already, so if that's the *only* thing that's going to work, I guess I'll do it...)  ::)

It's difficult because they're autonomous by the computer and conversations can be cut short, but I just did it recently, without cheats, so....

As far as the options not showing, is your Sim in another relationship? And, I would doubt it, but, is the paparazzi in a relationship? Do you have any mods or CC that dictate social interactions? Have you done enough friendly interactions to achieve the "move in" option? Have you done enough romantic interactions to get to "extremely irresistible". Without mods, you need a LOT of romantic interactions to achieve any measure above alluring. And you can't mix friendly with romantic or the romantic will drop back to "okay", at least with my game (which is really annoying).

Ejnarts, please share your expirience about marring paparazzi - I had this situation in dynasty file and after 3 weeks of chasing paparazzi, I turned my Sim to other more available Sims. In my game problem was that my barchelorette was a celebrity and this paparazzi was often assigned to her by the game - to follow her. But every time they talk he would run after first interaction. Every time she invites him out - he don't show up. And every time he comes to her party (legendary host LTR) with first interaction he would leave and come back as paparazzi NPC. They did became good friends - with parties and my constant trials to get them together, but never get a chance for romance.

As for moving in/marriage - if your household already has 8 Sims it is generally not available. Other than that, if they have full relationship bar, at least under friendly interactions there should be "move in" option, even if they are already in relationship (which I had seen before). Also, under friendly interactions you can see the option "ask to break up with X" if other Sim gets in active relationship after you asked "if they are singe".

I have absolutely no mods, and they were extremely irresistible to each other, and the paparazzi is single. This is also a new game and the paparazzi is my sim's first love interest (only one she ever flirted with).
But now I got one thing, I forgot I have to chat with them (do only friendly interactions) for a while for the move in thingy to pop up. I thought it was enough that they were "best friends". I'll try that next time I play. Thanks for refreshing my memory, ejnarts. :)

They were flirting at my sims home yard and there was yet another paparazzi taking pictures of them. Maybe that's why the go steady (or woohoo and try for a baby for that matter) interactions did not show up even when extremely irresistible? Maybe it depends if they are alone or not...?

I have had trouble with that too.  I finally had to resort to testingcheatsenabled and then just click on them to add to the household, of course, if your in a dynasty, that is not possible.  My 7th heir in my dynasty tried everything to get together with this paparazzi, but nothing.  Of course, I could not use cheats or anything, so she settled for an NPC to have the 8th generation, lol. :)
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

I did manage to woo one paparazzi. She left after the first interactioin on several occasions, ignored him on others. But once she stayed and talked. So I kept talking and finally got her to move in. The first romantic social told me she had a partner, so that was why I had no option to go steady or anything. I had to ask her to break up with him, because he wasn't even in her relationship panel! Not only that, there was no option to 'try for baby' until she moved in, because the game said her household was too full. Only, When I moved her, she lived with one other adult who was NOT her spouse, and her two babies!

I used the phone a lot seeing as she would always leave after 1 or 2 friendly interactions in person. And meeting her somewhere, she would always have something else doing and wouldn't show up most always. I'd follow her sometimes to see where she would go. Once she just hung out outside the pool so I had my Sim "go there", but after 1 or 2 interactions she left again. Talk about stalking, lol.

The phone worked nicely...took a few days to achieve friends along with the other sparse interactions. I finally invited her over...took a few tries as she just wouldn't appear most times. But, once she did it took about 3 or 4 interactions to achieve the "move in". I clicked it in a hurry knowing my time was limited.

I haven't tried it with being a celebrity, but I would imagine the phone would be the best option as they never seem to tell you they're too busy to talk and they can't photograph you autonomously, then invite them over and hopefully they won't leave before the "move in" option shows up   :)
