Screenshots aren't saving into the Documents Folder
« on: September 06, 2011, 10:57:46 AM »
Hi guys it's me again...the one that owns a game that hates her! okay good news....I can play now yayayayayay! Bad news...I had a story idea it was cute and ready to go with it. I was taking epic, beautiful, phenominal (or morphinominal for you old power rangers fans) screenshots. I go out of my game to upload and being my story here...there isn't any in my folder. Has anyone seen this bug? Anyone fix it or know how to fix it? I've searched but can't find anything. Help please thanks!

Dumb question, but you are going into your screenshot folder in your EA file, right?  Just thought I would ask.  I have not found something myself and it ended up being in the obvious place, but, I have not had any problem with mine, as of yet. :)

Before issues and Generations my screenshots were always under Documents -> EA Games -> Screenshots. Now they aren't there. Ask whatever you need too. I'll just be happy to get everything running again. I'll take all the help I can get

In the launcher you can go to upload, then check off the picture you want, and click show file and then it'll take you to where the screenshot is located on your computer.

I have read on the Sims Site that a lot of others have had problems with taking screenshots recently. I am not having this problem, I'm able to hit the C key and my photos do show up where they are suppose to, but my friend that plays said his has just stopped working also.  So far there has been no fix for this that I have read.  If you are using a MAC you can do Command Shift and 4 to select an area using your mouse or Command Shift 4 for full screen and the photo will save to your desktop as a .png file.

Jancy I think that's my solution. Beggars can be choosers I guess. I'm happy to be able to play again!

Sorry that you're having the screenshot problem though Nicky because I do think that it would be a real inconvenience to have to do it this way especially if you do take a lot of sceenshots, but maybe sooner rather than later EA will come up with a fix.  As long as your able to play, that's a good thing :)

No I can always play in windowed mode and screen cap the window. Not the best method. My game is still very unstable thanks to EA's patch which supposedly "fixed" the compatibility issue. It didn't. Every other time I try to launch the game it can't authorize my disk.

I talked on the phone to EA. The poor guy was having a bad day and did not know why Mac users hated him. I did calmly explain everything starting at the beginning with Lion. He thanked me for explaining the issue. He also told me Generations is a huge problem with bugs. His advice was to uninstall and not play Generations at all. Which I'm refusing to do. I mean I purchased all of this. I purchased the new OS. Now it should work like they say it does right? Oh well it keeps me on my toes!

However, I have determined once I do figure it out. I'm writing a detailed how-to so no one else has to go through this again.

That would be nice if you do that Nicky. I can not be of any help for you here I'm afraid, but if you are willing to write such a topic that would be more than welcome.
I think, obviously, the Help section here would be great for it.

I'm willing. However, I am beginning to think the solution is re-installing....again.

Aw, poor you. All I can recommend is backing things up, but you probably would do that already.

Well I'm starting from scratch. I had my jump drive in my Mac. Little did I know that somehow it erased that copy of my games also. That and since I'm now able to play I'm terrified that if I uninstall and reinstall again that it might now work and I"m back to not playing.
