Writing skill. How do you write a career level 10 life story?

I read that another genre is "life story"
How do I unlock this? or is it an opportunity?

and can it be any career as long as you are level 10?

I'm pretty sure there isn't a "life story" genre, but your Sim can write an Autobiography after writing three Biographies (from Writing opportunities). The best genre to write money-wise would be the Masterpiece, which you can write once you've published 25 other books. You don't need any special careers to unlock either, just experience in the Writing skill. Check the list in our Writing Guide if you'd like more information on unlocking new genres.

You're right it is on that list GenTheHen. It says it is a level 10 career oppurtunity - so I would say you first have to be at level 10 in the writing self-employment career, then wait for a career oppurtunity to pop up (it won't if there is already a career oppurtunity selected).

Oh so its for self employment writing career?
I have a sim level 10 politician, level 10 master thief and level 10 astronaught, was hoping they could all write a book on that.
They of course are all skill level 10 in writing, which I did with the intention of writing a book on each one HAHAHA

I wasn't aware that there were any opportunities for selfemployed professions - I never got one in any selfemployed career.

I hadn't heard of it either but the list says "level 10 career opportunity" so I'm assuming it's for the self-employed writing career. Does anyone know for sure?

I'd think that "Life Story" is a Political Career Op. I'll just double-triple check.
EDIT: I think it's a Level 10 Career Opportunity for any career.

You must be right. It just sounded so similar I assumed you must be talking about the same thing.

I had 6 sims who got to level 10 in 6 differnet carees put together. I never got an oportunity for any of them to write one.

I've only had the opportunity when some sim wanted to be better friends. "Write a biography about *** and get a better relationship and get some simoleans". However, never got more than one of these oppotunities and she was at level 10 with 10 published books (4 hits and 3 best sellers). Very random!

How do you actually write the bio? My level 10 write have the opportunity and the target is highlighted with the star, but there is no menu to actually write it. There is also no menu item to write the bio under the computer. She's written a non-fiction type with the name Biography of Akoni Kahale, but I can't figure out how to complete the opportunity.
