Signatures Modification
« on: September 03, 2011, 06:20:32 PM »
Signatures will now display only once per page, per member. This will help to cut down on noise in between messages. After all, signatures are mostly for vanity or for linking someone somewhere else. The main point here is the discussion.

Since I pruned the rule about signature height people started making them bigger, and I've received a few complaints. To counter having to tell you a specific size that is allowable, I installed this mod. If your signature is too big, it will leave a big gap. Being considerate to other members, you should try to reduce the size of that gap if it's more than a couple of inches. If your signature image is too tall, try reducing its width which will proportionately shrink the height. Otherwise, this gap should be less annoying to members than seeing the same images and scrolling past them over and over as they go through a thread.

For people with slow computers, this should actually help with page load times a little as there will be fewer images on the page overall.

great Idea, it's kind of annoying when you see an entire page entirely made out of signature Images, especially when I start to talk a lot   ::)

Regarding the gap for signatures, if mine was bigger (Sorry about the size, by the way), instead of the signature, it would show nothing?

EDIT: Now my last one. I didn't like the old one.

Yes, Seabody. Have a look at a thread where you've posted twice on a single page. I'm glad you guys liked the idea. I told Pam I would do it a while back, and finally got around to it today :)

Yours is a good example of the maximum size they should be.  :)

I really like this, Carl. Signatures can be annoying if you link to a post in the middle of a thread, because you get bumped down to the wrong spot when the pictures load. The forum will look a lot cleaner now!  ;D

Is my signature size okay? I try to keep the width the same size every time incase the picture looks stretched but I always forget the height size.

I used Photoshop for mine and it automatically resizes any images I add to the Canvas so that they fit and don't look stretched.

What a great addition! I actually deleted my signature because it was too much for me to look at it so often, now it's time to rethink that decision.
