Aquarium Bachelor Pad - House
« on: September 03, 2011, 12:24:48 PM »
Built on a 40 x 30 lot and is worth $89,648.  I used moveobjects cheat and also used buydebug.  This was more like an experimental house, but I put a sim, Leo, in the house and there were no issues.

I also tried the snow on the fog emitter.  It is really cool, but you have to put quite a few around the yard, because it only has a certain area it snows in.  Thanks for the comments and let me know if it downloaded ok.  I did use moveobjects on alot also. :)

I will be "borrowing" some of thees Ideas for future buidlings if you don't mind :P, I wish to know how you did the shark tank, I know how to build and add sharks, but you were able to give it a real aquarium feeling, may ask you how? I mean the aquarium room, is it a pool, or did you use a specifque fog emitter code?

Your right, it is just a pool with a fog emitter and set for sharks.  I just used moveobjects on to place the items in the pool.  I have always liked the aquarium idea, but when you made the tank and the sims were in the room, the walls would come down, so it just took away from the whole aquarium idea.  You may use anything you like.  Thank you for the comments, I really enjoyed making this house and I keep trying to find different ways to do things.  I tend to make boring houses, so this has been alot of fun. :)

OH!  Wash your mouth out with soap for that HUGE fib!  You do NOT make boring houses young lady!  (shakes finger in motherly way)  Your house is wonderful and creative and awe inspiring.  I don't have the courage you have to try all these new things.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I too, love the ideas in this house and may put a few to use :D By 'a set for sharks' what do you mean exactly? Also, I'm interested to know how you did the waterfall? And where did the front doors come from? I don't have any SPs, so sorry if it is an obvious question. If it is a store item I want to download it!!

The front door is a store item and the sharks are from the fog emitter from buydebug.  I had to use two fog emitters, because one only puts in one shark.  The water fall is also from the fog emitter.  I just built up the land and used move object on cheat to put the rocks.  It takes a few tries to put the fog emitter exactly where you want the water to fall.  I was really experimenting with it to see what can be done.  There are so many things for the fog emitter to do.  You can even make it rain and snow, but it only has limited range, so you would have to literally put dozens of those things around your yard.  I think too many fog emiiters would lag a game down too much. :)

Awesome! After some searching I've worked out how to change the effect (ctrl +shift click in buy mode, then type in the code). I used one in my Asian build, to immitate the fog around the bottom of the waterfall, but used fountain objects to get the waterfall look. Using the fog emitter will be much cheaper :D That said, I think it was easier to get the fountain where I wanted it to go because I could see the effects as I placed it and didn't have to switch to live mode.

It's a VERY long list of effects, so I can see I have some work ahead of me to test out all the options for maximum possible build usage. I'm trying to stretch my building creations by using things in ways that they're not normally used.

Most of the things I've seen today that I don't have are from the stuff packs, so I'm off to town to buy me some stuff packs as soon as my tax refund comes in!

Good for you.  That fog emitter is great, there are so many things to do with it.  I have been trying a few things for houses. :)
