Sim's Energy Bar Doesn't Decrease
« on: August 31, 2011, 06:37:14 PM »
I'm currently playing in Hidden Springs and Alisha Cho of the Cho family has a frozen Energy bar. It never decreases and there aren't any small red arrows showing a decrease. This save file is clear of all custom content, and this is my only save file currently in this folder. I recently did a factory reset, so my game should be clear of most problems. The rest of the family is fine, and so are other families. I have exited and re-entered the game and the same problem is still there. Also, the rest of Alisha's need bars function properly. Has this happened to anyone before? I just think it's so bizarre. I'm not doing a challenge, so it's not a big deal, but I'd like to get it fixed.

PS. I haven't opened the cheat panel the entire time that I've played this save so there's no chance of static needs or anything of the like. There's also no Moodlet Manager in the household.

I haven't had this happen in Hidden Springs, but it did happen for me a couple times in Bridgeport.  I didn't fix it either, since it wasn't a challenge file, so I'm not sure how to solve it.

Ok, I'm glad to know that it's not something that's exclusive to Hidden Springs. I already have a funky fountain problem, and I don't want anymore problems lol. Did it start immediately when you started playing or did it happen later in like week 2 or something? This problem popped up form me as soon as I started the family. I'm just wondering if it's something that can happen to an old save file or if it only happens in brand new ones.

I've never had the problem before or even heard of this problem, so I'm just hopeful it doesn't happen in any of my other games.

For me it was the townie spouse that my sim married.  It was also just him in the household with the problem, the other household members were fine.

I had a similar problem in both Sunset Valley and Hidden Springs. In my case it was the fun bar that was stuck halfway. I just ignored it because it was not affecting my game. The next time I played those particular files everything was fine.

@Moons:

Have you tried resetting that specific Sim with testing cheats enabled?

I had the same thing with a couple of Sims in Twinbrook. They came back to normal energy, but about two Sims weeks later, my game crashed -- I don't know if it was the first sign of something going wrong.

No, I haven't yet Pam. I'll try it out tomorrow and see if that works. I always forget that I can reset them. ::)

I hope it's not an early sign of a crash! I guess I need to go ahead and start saving backups.

I have that happen to mine every once in a while and like Pam said, just do the resetsim cheat and it fixes it right up.  Not sure why it happens, but it is an easy fix. :)
