Mummy Curse + Moodlet Manager
« on: February 20, 2010, 02:39:22 PM »
This is probably stupid of me to post since it is so obvious, but since it's not in the Mummy's Curse section of Carl's Guide, I thought I'd mention it.

Since the Mummy's Curse is a moodlet, the Moodlet Manager will cure it. I found this out because both my Sims have the Managers. When the guy got cursed, I just simply used the Manager on him (his energy was low) and this cured him instantly. Meanwhile I was still running around thinking I was cursed.

Of course, I haven't been able to get cursed since then. I keep getting the Adventure to be Burnt, Soaked, and Cursed, but only one mummy has appeared since getting it and my Sim beat it in the fight so he didn't get cursed.

Well it isn't stupid because this is news to me! I did not know that you could do this, and I'm sure that there are others here that didn't know this either. Carl should see this sometime and when he does, he  will probably add it to the guide. Thanks for sharing!

This may have come up before, but I'm not certain.  I'll make sure Carl sees this.  Thanks very much and welcome to our Forum!

Well, no one said you HAVE to use the moodlet manager to cure the curse. I mean, people use cheats on games that ruin the game (*cough* my brother *cough*) just because it ruins the game for you doesn't mean you have to use it.

Will a sim that has maxed out martial arts and athletic skills always win fights with mummies?  I want to get the "Cursed!" adventure eventually but now y'all have me worried I messed up that opportunity.

They may not *always* win fights with mummies, but they have an excellent chance of doing so.  Martial Arts is a prime strategy for defense against mummies.

I actually (kinda sorta only partially) agree. When I got cursed, I was kinda excited to do what needed to be done to get cured. But the reason I like the MM is because I remember playing Sims 2 and being able to do a whole lot more in a day. When Sims 3 first got released, it was really annoying because you would work, sleep, work, sleep until your days off. So the MM + the Deep Sleep reward kinda helped with that.

I don't like cheating, and the MM helps me cheat without the guilt complex.
