Sim cheating right in front of partner but partner doesn't notice?

Sorry if there is any other thread I should be posting this on. I know there is quite a few on the new romantic set up that came with Generations and patch 1.22, but I felt this needed it's own thread. Sorry if that is wrong, and also I put this in general discussion because I don't actually have Generations so it couldn't be related to that particular EP..

Well this is weird.. Patch 1.22 was supposed to make it harder for you to cheat, right? Well, not in my game.. There I was, getting my (very mischievous) sim to kiss her sister's boyfriend.. They did, and so I decided to bring the sister who's boyfriend my sim was kissing downstairs and right up to the couple so she could see and do the whole 'Oh no, I've been betrayed! How dare you?!' thing.. and she just stood there, happily watching them. The sister's mother then came out into the garden and saw the couple and she got the 'witnessed betrayal' moodlet, but the one being cheated on still saw and felt nothing.

So, I restarted the game and did it again. All sims are on the one lot (my sim's home) and there they were again, kissing, and I brought down the girl being betrayed and made her approach the couple. Still, nothing!

Why is this? I am assuming this is just some sort of glitch, or the sim being cheated on is glitched themselves? It is rather annoying, I had to change my whole legacy storyline because of it. Any ways to fix it, perhaps?

Also, I am not sure if this makes any difference, the boyfriend and girlfriend were actually in a 'date' together on the lot at the time (they both had the spinning hearts round their heads), and then I had made the girlfriend's sister go up and flirt and kiss her sister's boyfriend. And also, about the date thing, on the second go I just let it run to see if I had to wait a bit for the girl to realise she was being cheated on. When the date ended, the boyfriend said it was a great date to the sister who isn't his girlfriend!! Perhaps the game has confused them? Does it work with sisters? Or does the whole cheating system only work if you control the sim who is doing the cheating? Sorry for all the questions, this is just really quite confusing!

Or, going off what Rachel said, the stone hearted LTR? I've noticed nothing affects the ones that are stone-hearted. I haven't used no jealousy because I like them getting jealous for some weird reason lol.

What was the relation bar level for the two original lovers. I've noticed that if they are not truly suited, they don't seem to care. I had twin sisters that went after the same sim right in front of each other. He flirted with both; but, as it got more serious he went for the one whose personality was closer to his. Neither twin (Best Friends Forever) seemed to mind the other one moving in on their territory.

Nope. No LTRs apart from the Observant and the Fast-Learner I think.

The relationship bar between the boyfriend and his girlfriend was close to maxed and the relationship bar between the boyfriend and his girlfriend's sister was just a little lower. They were both pretty high, though, just the girlfriend's was slightly higher. The boyfriend was best friends with the sister although just out of interest I did try using cheats to lower the bar to just 'friends' and see if the same thing happened and indeed it did make no difference.  The two sisters are just acquaintances with each other.

Also, the boyfriend is flirty but the other two sims don't have any romantic traits. Would it make a difference that the sister (not the girlfriend) is mean-spirited and that the girlfriend is insane? They are all teenagers, too.. Does any of this affect cheating in relationships?

My sim presently was asked to get married by a non-commital boyfriend. I was shocked to see he wanted to propose. The game throws arrows at you and you go with the flow.

It's strange.. the horoscopes for the girlfriend and boyfriend are perfect, and the one for the boyfriend and other sister are compatible, too. Yeah, it could be some strange arrow the game has decided to throw but I really would think, seeing as the boyfriend and girlfriend are together as boyf and girlf and not just romantic interests, that if the girl was right in front of them while they were kissing she'd get some sort of moodlet or reaction. Hmm..

Just this evening the fiance wanted to kiss a party girl at his bachelor party, and when he approached her she instantly became friends with his fiance (the fiance has maxed the charisma callenge) and she walked away. The fiance was across town dancing with his worst enemy! So, go figure. By the way, she invited the party girl to her bachelorette party.

I had that happen.

Except my Sim had the Generations video camera and she video taped her partner flirting with her mother.  She had absolutely no reaction.
