Create a Sim contest.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a CAS contest. Somebody could come up with a theme a  family day at the beach for instance or first day of school and we have a set amount of days to submit our entry. A panel of say five forum members can be the judges and they narrow down the entries to ten and from those ten one the rest of the forum decide the winner.
I would also suggest that no store content is allowed.

Me too, I think that would be really fun. If we can have building contests and challenges, why can't we have this?

Perhaps other theme types based on careers and LTWs could be used as challenges, as well. For example: Create a sim who would be perfect for the Super Spy career, etc.

Yeah, or we could have a contest like, create a a family with _____. Like twins, or a newly wed couple, or enemies.

That would be so fun, I love CAS.

I love this idea, however, I think building contests allow Store content. We could say "no CC" though, since it's a general rule to begin with.

However, I think maybe creating real life celebrities, would be a great CAS challenge, and whoever has the most accurate carbon copy (including traits) wins.

I think that store content shouldn't be allowed, just so that people with access to the store don't have a big advantage.
And seeing who can make the most realistic celebrity is a great idea.

Ooh, I like this idea! I agree that we shouldn't use store content, at least not at first. If we get lots of members involves, perhaps we can make a seperate category for Sims with store items. I'm already imagining the introductions for each contest. "Dear so-and-so, our company is looking for new models to advertise our clothing." "Hi matchmaker, I'm looking for a cute boyfriend who has [these] interests."

Hmm. Sounds like an interesting idea, but I wouldn't want every contest to just be about celebrities. I think having looser criteria will open the contest up to creativity, rather than just skill. Besides, this is a contest - bias is what it's all about!

Actually, I personally think it should be a bigger challenge, regarding what type of content is forbidden. I think to make it even more challenging, it should be Vanilla Content only.

Also, I think when Pets comes, we should expand it to Create a Pet contest.

I don't think Store content will make too much of a difference. If this was a Building contest where the challenge is "Make a minimalist lot worth exactly §495,000", You could place the fountain of youth. Whereas, if it was not allowed, it would involve strategic planning.
But this is a CAS contest. Therefore, adding that cap won't suddenly increase the sim's beauty 10000-fold. It's cosmetic.
