Update to Culinary Librarian LTW

Today while playing the Perfectly Happy Challenge, I noticed something about the Culinary Librarian LTW that is a bit different from what the guide says. In both the game and the guide, the description of this LTW says that you need to learn every recipe while this isn't necessarily true. You only need to learn 28 recipes to complete the wish. In the base game, 28 recipes is every recipe, but with the addition of WA, there are several more recipes added and you can learn some of those in replacement for some of the base game recipes. Just thought I'd make that minor clarification  .

No problem, just something that I seriously regretted since I knew it would take me a while to get all the recipes, but then when I finished reading one of the books, a pop-up said that I completed my Lifetime Wish. So yeah, just a minor adjustment.

Ugh, bad news, while I used to be able to knock this LTW out really quickly without travel, the latest patch makes it so you really need ALL of the recipies from all the locations. (and since traveling sometimes destorys games, I didn't want this family to travel...)

I'm currently playing a Sim who has the Culinary Librarian LTW and she achieved her lifetime wish long before she learned every recipe in the game.  I really don't think you have to learn all of them.  It's probably a number equal to the amount of the original game's recipes.

Uh, actually with the latest patch (and probably since WA came out) you only need 28 known recipes to complete this LTW. Like I said in my first post, I only needed to learn 28 recipes, and this was with the latest patch. I'm not sure if your information is correct, you might want to check that again...

Right. I'm going to correct these. The developers intended all original lifetime wishes and challenges to be completed without having to resort to travel. "All" in any case should be changed to the original number of items in the Sims 3 "vanilla". I managed to get challenges changed but didn't do wishes. I don't expect these totals to change at any point in the future -- after all, learning 40 recipes should be worth far more lifetime happiness points than 28. They didn't make these harder, but we have more options to complete them. I'll fix this asap across the guide but expect lurking errors due to its size. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, I'm sorry! My mistake. I think what I was talking about was the wish to learn every recipe. Just like there is a one for the "Catch every type of Fish" Wish. That one also needs to get through the WA.

Oh that reminds me! I also had a wish worth like 8,000 points to learn every recipe, and it only needs 28 recipes as well. The same thing goes for the fish wish too, you only need to catch as many fish as the base game has. So even still, I think you need to check your information again, because I've completed both of those "minor" wishes before I ever traveled.

Really? Because when I did it I learned ever recipe and caught every fish but it didn't get resolved. :/ I just found that weird, I mean I bought every recipe even Ambrosia and learned it all but she still didn't solve the wish so I just assumed it meant I needed to travel.

You may want to double check your Sim and make sure you didn't overlook a recipe.  It's true that the original Lifetime Wishes from the base game can still be achieved without traveling.  That's something that will always stay the same.
