Changing Names; Saving Characters?
« on: August 25, 2011, 11:25:34 PM »
Hi!

Two quick questions on mechanics.  I know I can't be the only one.

One:
Can I change heroes' names post-creation?  I.e., I made a priest named Friar _ Tuck, and then found to my horror that he was now "Brother Friar."  Oops.  The only solution I could think of was the next time I had the monarch, send him to the pits and recreate...  If there's a way to change a name!

Two:
More than once I've spent fair time creating a character who cosmetically I liked, but, either the name was bad (see above), or I'd messed up some quest without a save in the right spot.
I'd like to save the time it'll take to recreate the character.
I know that in regular sims 3, you can go to a mirror to change appearances, and there you can "save sim."
That doesn't seem to exist in sims medieval though.  Is there some way I can "save sim" my created knight in the one game that went awry, then, load him again in an earlier game?

thanks!

I can help with this question.  "Brother" is the title of your Sim for his job.  Each hero has a title.  Monarch is Sir or Lady.  I can't recall the others right now.  There's no way to change that, either.

You can save your sims while in Create-a-Sim.  I have all mine saved there and I use the same ones in each game because I like the look of the characters I've created.  I sometimes change their traits in different games, and you could make any other changes you wanted to as well.

I have a "Brother Friar" Tuck, too!  Great minds think alike, hehe.  I don't mind the name, but again if you wanted the same looking character but with a different name, save him in Create-a-Sim and change the name next time you're making a Peteran Priest.

I'd noticed that... too late :-)
Is there a way to "save a sim" after you've left "create a sim"?

You could try taking them to the mirror or dresser and entering Create-a-Sim that way.  I've never tried to save a Sim in Sims Medieval that way, but I think it should be possible.  It works in Sims3.
