Nothing has worked so far. As far as getting them to get married, but like you said as long as they can have babies and and since I can control her and their children I will let them stay together. They don't seem to care that they are not married. Lol. If it changes I will put up a post about it, but I doubt it will.

Sorry to hear that Sunshine, i do not know any other way to get the marriage on the game. Perhaps with the debug interactions cheat but i doubt it.
A couple of mods come to my mind that could fix the situation, but i wouldn't recommend you to go that way unless you are familiar with modding the game.

Well thanks TGBlank. I am not familiar with modding at all. While I would rather them get married it is not a "deal breaker" to me. You never know, someday the option to get married might pop up. I kind of doubt it but, like I said you never know! I will post about it if it does ever happen.

Not working over here either.

One day they'll make a patch to fix this and then that patch will break something else.

Hmmm... I've had a couple of different Sims married to service NPC's - one to the maid, and one to a cop who showed up to catch a burglar!  All I had to do was talk to them when they were initially at the house, then call them later and invite them over.  My sim then went through enough social actions to become at least "Good Friends", then went through every available Romantic action (always start with Ask If Single, Flirt, Compliment) until I get the chain of options referred to above here - Confess Attraction, First Kiss, Propose Going Steady, Propose Marriage, Private Ceremony.  If your Sim has completed the Celebrity skill challenge (Charisma) then you should already have a good initial relationship boost.  Combine it with Attractive and you get instant friends when you meet strangers!  That is what helped my writer sim Eifrig Wortschmidt woo and marry the lovely Ursula (policewoman) in a single day!

But was this in the current patch? I've been able to marry the maid Katie Pistachio when I first got the game, but I think that the problem stated here is the result of a bug in the latest patch.

Nope:
To TheLostGirls: I don't think I am patched to anything, but I am not sue what that means. Propose Going Steady never came up either.

Doesn't matter tho, the person with the Thorton Wolff problem does have the game fully patched, and the problem is way too similar to be a different bug.

Okay, so it's an old bug on a new patch. This isn't unknown actually, as bugs are known to reappear even after they've been fixed.

I don't think they ever fixed it in the first place >_>.

The good thing is that the bug is somewhat random so it is unlikely to happen again if you delete the save and start over (a sim getting corrupted relationship data because the game failed to load things properly at some point).
The bad thing is that it can happen again after starting over if you're overly unlucky.

It's like being hit by a lightning.

BIG NEWS!

I have discovered something about this bug. My pre created Sim (Micheal Bachelor) was wooing a custom made Sim (name not important). They were able to "Propose Going Steady". I don't know if it is the pre created Sim or the teenage factor but something is up.

BIG BIG news!!

Dum dum da da. Lol. It happened! Max and Margarita are married! I just kept doing the same stuff I was doing before and it happened! I don't know why it happened this time and not all the other times, but it did! Thank you so much everyone for helping me! We did it! Lol. Finally Max has a wife! Right after I changed Margarita's last name she came home, her and Max WooHooed and kissed, then out of no where the option to "go steady" came up. Then, the "propose" option came up! I jumped on it! The next Sim day I had Max throw a party and they got married! So, to answer my own question yes, your Sim can marry the maid, but in some cases it might take a long time! Lol.

Congratulations both!

Now if we can only find out what caused this bug so that we can de'activate it faster  ;D

To Margerita: Thanks! Yes, I agree this needs to be fixed!
To Pam: Lol. Yeah, but they had all the same interactions before with all the same responses. I always made sure they were happy and everything. I don't know what happened I am just glad it did! Lol. I know this sounds silly, but I got the "Go Steady" and "Propose" options right after Margarita changed her last name to be the same as Max's last name. I know it does not make sense, but maybe changing her last name to his helped them to get married. I am just throwing that out there.

You might be onto something here, changing her name may have made the game re-evaluate relationship data on your sims. Another theory would be that there was a corrupted sim roaming around town and the story progression doohickey randomly decided to boot it (thus removing it's negative influence).
