To TGBlank: The answer is no. They have no children or past partners. Do you know of a patch that would fix it?
To Pam: Yeah, I was affraid of that. Thanks for the information! The "Try for Baby" option has popped up. Do you know if I can have a baby with her? Will they be able to have a baby even though they can't get married? If there is a bug making it to where they can't get married or even go steady will they be able to have a baby together?
To Margerita: No, I have not seen the "Confess Attraction" option pop up. By the way I think Margerita is the name of the Sim I am talking about. The one that Max is trying to get to marry him.

As of yet, there is no patch to fix this problem.  Yes, Max can have a baby with her and since she lives in the household, you will have full control over the child/children.  Getting married has no bearing on them being able to have children together.

Good! At least they can have babies! Not being able to have a baby is a deal breaker to me! I would rather Max get married, but I have already put a lot of time and work into this relationship. Thank you wildredchild! That helps! Thank you everyone for helping! One more thing, will the baby have his last name or her last name? This is important to me!

The baby will have the last name of the mother.  However, you can send her to City Hall during regular business hours and change her name.  I believe you can do the same for the baby after he/she is born by having a parent go to City Hall.

Oh well, I think I'm starting to get this bug as well now. :( Morganna Wolff (Now Dragon via City Hall) split with Thornton and wants to marry a Chinese guy but neither options showed up. But I was using testingcheats? Were you?

It doesn't really matter if they are not married. It's modern times anyway! :) At least your Sim won't leave her on her own with the child.

Yes, Pam you are right about the parent being able to change the baby/child's name at City Hall. I was able to do this on a weekend day as well.

I have a question about the maids in general....do you know if all of the maids have the kleptomania trait, because every maid I've hired has had this trait and I've hired more than 5 already. I fire them as soon as I find out about the klepto trait because I'm afraid that they will steal things from my house while they are there. I thought about having one of my house members marry one of the male maids, but then found out about the klepto trait and changed my mind. I owned two of the virtual goggles and one showed up missing and I do not know what happened to it....but it went missing when I had maid service. Now I don't use maids until I can figure out if that is why the goggles turned up missing. This has happened to me twice now when I own two sets of goggles at a time.

To Pam: Awesome! Thanks Pam! If I do that now before she is preggers will the baby have her new last name when it is born?
To samoht04: I was not using any cheats. That is too bad that you have it now.
To catlvr: My maid has the Kleptomania trait.
To everyone: I need to know, will the baby have the Kleptomania trait if the Mother does? Because I don't like that trait. I am saving "Life Time Happiness Points" so I can change Margerita's (the Sim Max is with) traits. If the answer is "Yes the baby will have the Kleptomania trait because the mother does." if I changed her traits with the "Mid-Life Crisis" reward before she gets pregnant will the baby still have the Kleptomania trait?

No, unless you're a rubbish parent or a so-so where either the two or one trait is chosen randomly. However you could be a great parent and get to choose the child's traits. Traits are determined by a Sim's Lifetime from how the pregnancy goes (well or badly). Then after that, the Sim's whole lifetime.

@Catlvr - Not all maids have the Klepto trait you just had bad luck with them. I don't know if you read the tips when a game is loading but there is one saying 'Keep an eye on your hired help.' There is more but it's 10:20 here and I can't remember the rest, but it does say something like not all work as hard as others and some will, of course, steal.

To TheLostGirls: I don't think I am patched to anything, but I am not sue what that means. Propose Going Steady never came up either.
To samoht04: I am almost sure I have seen the maid think that Max was "Extremely Irresistable" and the "Try for Baby" option came up, but the "Propose Marriage" option never came.
To kat: Their needs start out really good, but after trying to get them to marry each other for hours (without any luck) their needs get low. Maybe I can try to make them really, really happy then try. I am worried it might be a bug. Or maybe I just need to keep at it. Like I said as long as they can have children I am happy. Although it would be nice to see them get married.

Oh sorry, when you open your game, at the bottom, what version does it say you have?
You can 'Try For A Baby' or 'WooHoo' at any time.
Pam, this is worrying. I couldn't do this with Thorton, either, but I could before the patch.

Children don't inherit their parents' traits.  When a baby is born, you get to choose the two starting traits if the mother has a good pregnancy (plenty of rest, good mood, etc.).  If the pregnancy doesn't go as well, the game will assign random traits to the baby.  Klepto has a possibility of showing up, but no more than any other trait.

I have trouble with missing goggles, too!  I never thought that maybe the maid was taking them.  It just seems like they just disappear all the time.

To samoht04: Thank you! I guess I will let them stay together.
To TheLostGirls: I will get back to you on that. The next time I play I will check.
To Pam: Thank you! Since they can have a baby together, and I can make it where the baby has Max's last name, and the baby won't have the Kleptomania trait I will allow them to stay together. Why not. The kids are in love! Lol!
To everyone: If I change her last name before she gets pregnant the baby will have her new last name, right? I know it is a dumb question, but you never know.

Yes, if you change Margarita's last name before she is pregnant, the baby will have the same last name. Try this: do all the romantic interactions you would with Max, but this time with Margarita.

To jmz95: Thank you! I am a bit confused. When you say "but this time with Margarita" do you mean do it while controling Margarita? Are you saying to try this to help get them get married?

Yeah, if you've been using Max to interact with Margarita all this time, this time control Margarita and click on Max and do the romantic interactions.

I think I have used Max about 60% of the time and Margarita about 40% of the time. I will try using Margarita next time. Thanks for the tip jmz95! I am on my iPod right now, but as soon as I get home I am going to get on my computer! So if all goes as planned I will be able to play the game and see if that tip works in about four hours. If I am not too tired. Lol. If I am I will check it out tomorrow.

Haha, well if you've already tried doing it with Margarita, it probably won't work but it's worth a shot right? And anyway, as long as you can have kids and you control her.
