What self employment careers are there?
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:13:34 AM »
I am planing a project and I would like to know all the self employment career options there are. I am thinking of anything that makes money that does not involve going into a rabbit hole.

Thanks in advance.

Gardening, fishing, inventing, painting, sculpting. There might be more but that's all I can think of right now.

Do you mean just "official" self-employment where your Sim registers at City Hall as self-employed?  Or are you also thinking of other ways of making money like breaking boards, etc?

In addition to the ones Sportsfan listed, I'm pretty sure your sim can be a self-employed nectar maker.

I think creating a band is also some kind of self-employment.

Thank you for the suggestions I was also thinking of anything that makes your Sim money board breaking would be one. Of the top of my head hacking and kleptomania comes to mind too.

So far I have
Angler.
Band.
Board breaker.
Collecting.
Gardening.
Gold digger.
Hacking.
Inventing.
Klepto.
Musician.
Mixologist.
Mooch.
Nectar maker.
Painter.
Photographer.
Sculpture.
Writer.

Let me know if I have missed any.

Like Chronic said, Band, it is different from musician I think you should add it,  you could also add Gold digger (marrying rich sim, then killing them / kicing them out ) , mooching ? solving the unsolvable ?  that's all I can think of now

Now I need to put my list into groups of similar subjects.

Artistic:Painting,sculpting,photography.

At one with nature:Fishing,gardening.collector.

Athletic:Board breaking.tomb raider.

Party animal:Mixologist,musician,band.

Creator:Inventor,nectar maker.writer.

Law Breaker:Kleptomaniac,hacker.

Lazy:Mooch,gold digger.consignment store specialist.

Mental:Solving the unsolvable,searching the galaxy.

Let me know if you think I should move these round or any suggestions for other catagories.

I'm thinking collector should be in the at one with nature category. It's not exactly a lazything to do.

Yeah, that's what I thought to because lazy people don't exactly run around town looking for rocks.

I don't think you've got playing for tips on the list.  Not sure what category it would fit into.

I think playing for tips is a sub-category of Party Animal, musician. Great list Rachel.
