Generations worth getting?
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:40:27 AM »
I am looking for a bit of feedback on this EP, are the new additions worth getting this expansion?  I have been a creeper of this section of the forums for a while and it seems that there are quite a number of bugs, please correct me if I am wrong.  With Late Night I still get quite a few oddities that can get quite annoying and I am wondering if the good of this EP outweigh the bad.

I usually tend to get expansions a few months after the release in hopes of the majority of bugs getting flushed out by EA, but was a bit disappointed by LN.

Thanks

It's actually more the Generations patch that gave the bugs, and a lot of them are fixed with 1.24. I haven't gotten Generations yet (I ordered it two weeks ago) but I know that you'll get a lot of fun out of it if you play families with kids, as it's a kid-based EP. :)

When I first got Generations, I wasn't very thrilled with it. It definitely wasn't what I expected since it's very different from the other expansions. There isn't a whole lot of additional content, but there's a lot more to do, if that makes sense. You'll get the most use out of it if you enjoy playing children and teens. This EP is more about giving you new interactions for your sims than, say, locations as with World Adventures or Late Night.

I never made my Sims have children because I would just get bored with them. I mean children had nothing to do, neither did teens, unless it was hanging out with their boy/girlfriend. I admit this was one EP I did not want. I had to be convinced to buy it. But my sister got it and I relized how much it did to the gameplay. It added new interactions, a meaning to being a child, LOL. It just really adds extra gameplay, that is (in my opinio) needed.

Thank you all for the feedback, I am glad that the bugs aren't as severe as it seemed at first and I'm looking forward to additional actions for younger sims.  Thanks again!

I am desperate for this EP, and I have to save up another £10 to get it. (About $12, if I'm correct). The additional gameplay, like Imaginary friends and dressing up look so fun, and I can't wait to get it :D

This. Generations is by far the second-best expansion pack, after Late Night, the little things it adds here and there make the initial game more complete. It's most likely the only expansion pack which includes content that blends straight into the game.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

Generations is a bit of a strange expansion pack compared to others, there is no new town and everything in the expansion pack isn't  in your face like Late Night or Ambitions. As it was said before, it's all in the interactions and the events added in the game.
