Children Chemists
« on: August 20, 2011, 03:52:12 AM »
My Chemist Sim's child has three logic points. She can use the chemist's table to discover potions. Her chemist father has discovered all the potions he can discover. The great surprise here is that the child chemist can discover a potion much faster than the adult one does! Everytime the child tries to discover a potion, she is successful at every try, and in no time at all! Have you observed this with child chemists? Or is this true for children of chemists only?  :)

Wow that's got to be something like the vampire children's super-fast skilling. Thanks for sharing, Athena, I'll be sure to use this later on.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

The way the chemistry table seems to work (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is that every Logic level has a potion assigned to it. If the father did most of his Logic learning at the chemistry table, then he wouldn't be able to learn a new potion until he reaches the next Logic level. The child, however, if you made her use the blocks as a toddler, than I'm assuming her Logic skill started at level 3 when she started using the chemistry set? If so, then she would be able to learn any of the three potions associated with the three levels that she has accumulated. This means that she could very quickly learn the first three potions in seemingly no time since she doesn't have to sit there for a long time to level up.

Not sure if that makes much sense, but I'll try to clarify if you don't understand something.

I agree with Moons Are Blue.

My child chemist started at Logic level 4 from books and blocks and discovered the first 4 potions very quickly but now takes longer to discover for each other other level because there is only 1 potion per level. To make her discover the potions quicker I have her read logic books at the library until just before she levels up then come home and "discover potions".
It always seems impossible until its done.
