Getting in Trouble
« on: August 17, 2011, 11:29:32 PM »
I don't know why, but I find getting in trouble hilarious. My rebellious teen is always getting in trouble. She's been getti

First Scene: Cindy set a booby trap when I wasn't watching. Got sent to sit in corner. (She kept wiping "tears" and sniffling. Lol)
Second Scene: Timeout over. Sent her todo it again. Made mom go watch. Timeout.
Third Scene: Mom lets Cindy off hook. I X out the action of "time out" so she can be released. No more computer for her.
Fourth Scene: I send Cindy to computer and make Mom walk in. No more TV or computer. (Which, by the way, she doesn't use either.)
Fifth Scene: I send Dad to put on home movie. Everyone comes, including Cindy. Cindy gets grounded by Dad. (Well, he put the TV on)

The whole thing had me laughing! I'm just starting to purposely get her in trouble.

That's hilarious, Sidney. I'm just wondering... How many pranks should a child do too get grounded? I indeed want to test this out, I just never got around to doing it. Could anyone please tell me?
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

My sim was grounded on her first prank. Guess it depends on the parent.

I don't know about how many pranks it is to get grounded but my teen got grounded for being out after curfew.

Mine got grounded for putting traps on the Kitchen Sink, Bathroom Sink, Shower, another Bathroom Sink and then the Computer. Mostly her Sister got hit by them but her Father got the Shower one and he grounded her.

Well actually she purposely set the trap for her father because he was rude to her when she talked about her imaginary friend.

The oldest boy in my current family is always getting in trouble but the only option that comes up is scold.! I just figure his parents don't care maybe?

You can't make a Parent punish their child, it happens on Free Will, so if your Teen was out after Curfew, got arrested and such then the Parent may or may not ground them.

As a child he did not have the rebelious trait,(i added that after he became a teen) but I guess his parents are just relaxed!  :D

@mellokitty: I was also a very relaxed parent. Had kids begging to spend the night.

It seems random sometimes they scolded for "sneaking out" when they are grounded and come home from school! But when a kid is in the tree house and dumps a bucket of water over a parent, the parent just stands there dripping with water instead of having the kid get down from there to be scolded. I also found that when they have gotten privilege revoked or gotten grounded you can click on a sofa, chair or simular and have them go sit there and sulk. They will continue to sulk until you give them something else to do.

When my teen got grounded from leaving the house, I tried getting her to go to school, but she couldn't go! I'm curious if it's a glitch, or if it's part of the teen's punishment.
