Savegame compatibility

For example, if I have a savegame, and I want to continue playing after "Pets" release, will the new expansion/patch causes bugs to my old savegame?

Hi Shyro, and a belated welcome to the forum. 

Installing Pets shouldn't cause problems with your existing games.  It's not supposed to.  Then again, the bug collection seems to keep growing in this game, so at this point none of us really knows what sort of surprises the new patch and expansion pack will bring.
