TS3 - The Sims 3; similarly, TS2 - The Sims 2.  I don't think there's one for the original Sims game because it probably didn't have a number.

To add to Schipperke's suggestion, TSM?

Noted and noted :).  I hope TSM = The Sims Medieval because that's what I'm putting in  ;).

Testing cheats? Just explain what they are and how to do the cheat.

It is.

Carl already has a page on Cheats, I don't think we need it here, although maybe a Link to the Cheats page may be good?

I think a one sentence definition and a link would be appropriate.

Goodness!  I had been wondering if I should define Cheats (as Sportsfan indicated), then realized that site already has a great guide to Cheats (as samht04 points out), then thought, hmmm maybe I should just provide a link (as both samoht and CSquared suggests), the same way I did with Challenges.  So, thank you all for the suggestions!  I guess it's another case of GMTA (Great Minds Think Alike)!

Thanks also, samoht, for confirming the definition of TSM.

Speaking of confirmations, will someone please confirm for me:  Is the exchange rate on Simpoints 1 USDollar = 100 Simpoints?  And is CAP a downloadable?  Thanks.  I'd like to get the (?) and the "I believe" out of the guide.

For Americans, not for me. :P

And is CAP a downloadable?

Yes, from here:

Thanks PJSim!  Hmmm rather than complicating things regarding the exchange rate, I'll direct people to go to the Official site for further details.

Thanks for all your work making this list SPY (lol), I think it's a great idea.

I've got one little nag about your definition of CC; I don't think it should include EA supported content of any kind (neither EP/SP, Store or promotional items), it just confuses the issue of why we even talk about CC.
In particular I think a line like this: "Examples include items from the Store or the Exchange" might give the inexperienced simmer the idea that downloading stuff from the Store and the Exchange is practically the same thing but as we know, it is not.

I know it can be debated what CC actually means but since this is a list of "Generally Accepted Acronyms" I think you should use the most common definition (on this forum and elsewhere), which is: user-made, third party content not supported by EA.

Examples:
1) We don't allow CC to be uploaded in the Swap Shop. This only means third party stuff, people use Store items and promotional freebies all the time.

2) When someone asks for help with problems in their game and we say 'Do you have any CC in your game?'. Then we're also talking about third party downloads only, anything made by EA shouldn't cause problems (or if it does it's a different issue entirely).

You could link to this thread for further clarification.

I think it should be third party CC and official CC.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

Maybe define between CC in general and say that it includes EA Store stuff which isn't harmful and then Third Party CC.

EA stuff can be harmful, it should say EA stuff is much safer.

Thank you, PJSims, Chronic, samoht and Carlos, for your insightful comments.  As someone who hasn't even downloaded Rivervi... I mean RV, I'm without doubt one of those inexperienced CC newbies :D.  Your input has been quite helpful.

One thing I wanted to do with this guide was to avoid editorializing.  To paraphrase Joe Friday, I wanted to include "Just the facts, ma'am."  ((For you young'uns, Joe Friday was a detective on the old TV cop-show Dragnet waaaaaaay back when.))  Therefore, I tried to steer clear of opinions, good, bad or otherwise.  My thought was that people accessing this guide would be looking mainly for definitions.  It would be up to them if they want to take it further.  It was tough trying to define CC (and mods) in purely factual ways!

Anyway, I've made changes to the definitions for both CC and mods.  Do you think they're ok or do they need more tweaking?

SPY -- it was only a few days ago that someone (I think it was MissPlumbBob) pointed out my initials.  I hadn't even noticed!  I'm going to have to come up with a way to incorporate it into a signature now :).
