Stuck car
« on: August 14, 2011, 04:49:05 PM »
Generations ago my police sim died soon after exiting his police cruiser. The car has since been stuck in front of my house and I'm finally sick of it enough to try and get rid of it. I've tried "testingcheatsenabled true", "moveobjects on", and going into world editor. No matter what I do I can't interact with this car. Anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it?

Got an inventor? Try blowing it up!

With the cheats turned on try shift clicking on the car, select object then delete. I've used that process to get rid of cars stuck on the roads before.

Shift clicking on the car does nothing. It's like the car isn't even there.

That is because shift click works on lots, not on open world area which include roads. Few of us had that problem - there were a tread about it somewhere, and so far only solution I know is get inventor to blow it up.

Wonder why it works for me then. I've always shift-clicked on the cars stuck on the road to get rid of them. I used it just a week or so ago for a car stuck on the road in front of Central Park in Sunset Valley.
I don't know if it makes a difference or not but I always turn the cheats on at the main menu before selecting the save file and entering the game.

Here is a tread about it.

It may be a difference since I never type cheats in main menu, or there are different ways cars are bugged and some respond but some don't.

so my problem was that one of my sim's car was stuck outside the house on the road, not on the home lot. i tried everything suggested and didn't work, but i just tried being in game (play mode) and used one of my sims to click on the car (because i can do this) and then an option comes up with a title (object) i clicked that and that gives you a second option to delete, and there you have it! it worked and the car was gone, just like that haha i stumbled on this and i thought i should share in case anyone has had this issue too. if anything this can just be another thing to try if all else failed like it did for me.

happy gaming =)
