Hope things work out for you, when I installed The games they were digital copies, I installed them in a very messy order,maybe disc copies have somthing wrong with them...

I installed my discs in the correct order and I'm happy to say they are working perfectly! Yey!

I've only just now copped this error on my Sims 3. Rather than starting a new topic, I thought I should respond here. This is totally different to that 'Factory Reset' process, isn't it?

Today I saved and exited The Sims 3. When I tried to return to it and play again I got the message: "Service Initialization Failed (0x0175d824)"

I was wanting to know if this was different to the 'Factory Reset' solution given elsewhere on this board.

The way it looks to me in the thread, the solution was to do a complete manual uninstall and then re-install the game, being sure to install the expansion and stuff packs in the order in which they were released.  This is definitely different than a factory reset.  You can find topics about the specifics of a clean removal and installation on the Technical Help board.

Thanks Pam. I thought of things that I had downloaded recently. And then started removing them one by one. After downloading one of them, it seems to have worked properly. I just won't play with that particular item any more.

I'm getting this error too when I try to play University Life. I've tried both automatic and manual uninstall, and still it won't work. What can I do?
