Can I unlock new hairstyles?

I have unlocked some new clothes through progressing in professions, how can I unlock more? And can I unlock new hairstyles too? And how?

There are some salon-only hairstyles, talking of hair. Actually all you need to do is advance further in the professions to unlock the necessary uniforms.

If you are okay with cheating I think you can do unlockoutfits on before you go into CAS.

Sims 3 Cheat code: unlockOutfits [on or off]
Note: This cheat code must be entered before you go into create a sim mode.
Example code entry: Press CTRL + SHIFT + C, then type unlockOutfits on, and press Enter to activate the code.

But if that dosen't work, try doing CTRL + SHIFT + C + windows symbol. That's what I have to do.

I have all of these hairstyles at home because I have a makeover station , I think you should try that instead of going to the salon!

I think you should try unlockoutfits then, if you want even more.

Sure, just press "Ctrl + Shift + C", type "unlockoutfits on" (without quotes) into the text box, and hit enter before you go into Create A Sim. The cheat will open up access to clothes that you normally can't get straight away, mostly career uniforms. If you have Ambitions installed, you'll get hairstyles and wacky makeup from the Stylist career (see picture for the hairstyles) and some cool clothing from the Time Machine.
