Copy household to library not working

Hi.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

I am trying to move neighborhoods for my family of 8.  The custom neighborhood I've been playing them in has no school, and I only just realized this when their oldest reached school age.

The save copy worked before with this family (although there may have been fewer kids at that time) because they started off in Bridgeport.

I can save other households to the library with no problem.

Any suggestions?

I'm having this problem, too, but I can't save any household or house, even ones I download from the internet. I hope someone can help us.

Welcome to our Forum, callieis.

First, let's make sure you're using the correct steps to save the household.

1.  Go into Edit Town.
2.  Click on your household (green icon).
3.  Click on the button that looks like a file folder and says "Save to Library" when you hover over it.
4.  Select to save "Household with House" on the next screen.

After it finishes processing, the household will be available in your library to place in another town.  You'll have to start with another new Sim or one of the existing families in the game.  Then go to Edit Town, select the household, and place it on an appropriate empty lot in the new town.  You'll have to switch active households to play it.

If this still doesn't work, where exactly do you have a problem?  Lots of details, please.

After reading your steps, I am sure that I was doing the procedure correctly.  Also, I followed the exact same steps with another family (not my family, a pre-existing one), and it worked fine.

With the one that DID work: I went to edit map, clicked on the house tag, chose copy household to library, clicked household only.  Then it appeared in my library when it was done processing.

With the one that DID NOT work:   I went to edit map, clicked on the house tag, chose copy household to library, clicked household only.  Then it DID NOT appear in my library when it was done processing.

The only thing different that I can think of is that the one that did not work was my active household.  Although, it has worked in the past when I've copied my active household (the green tag).

I'm having the same problem, for the first time in my Sims carier.
The problem seems to be my male Sim, a wizard. When I put the rest of the household in another house and save, there is no problem, they appear in the library correctly. It's just him my game won't save.

The only thing I haven't tested yet, is removing everything in his inventory. Hope that the problem lies there, I would really like to move my family to Monte Vista.

Does anyone recognize this problem or has a solution?

edit: I solved the problem by opening a previous save. In that game I'm perfectly able to copy my family (wizard included) to the library, in the save after that he seems to be bugged. Onfortunately I don't have any idea what went wrong with him during those 24 Sim-hours. His inventory isn't the cause. I removed that completely, but still wasn't able to save him.
