I have a new annoyance: the Upset interaction.

Here's the scene: a family with two teenage brothers. Younger brother asks older brother to be his BFF. Older brother accepts. Then, older brother's girlfriend, who is in the same room, walks over and is upset. The mother, who is also in the same room, walks over and is upset.

...why? Is it somehow a threat to the girlfriend that her boyfriend is now BFF with his own brother...? I don't get it.

It's because BFF is a relationship status change as opposed to a mere level of friendship (I've let pairs of BFFs go for ages without speaking, and they still stayed BFFs), sort of how becoming romantic interests with someone is. The girlfriend sees it as being "more than friends," and then they get upset.

It's a stupid way to handle it, but there you go.

I don't like the generic look either, but its not much better when there are too many overly ugly sims.

I got annoyed with twinbrook, it was such a boring and ugly town it made ambitions not worth paying for.

Sims are hypocrites.  Eve has a child with Boyd, doesn't even ask Boyd to break up with his wife, though he does later.  Then we have to see Boyd again to hand him his shower that he can't fix himself.  Since Boyd, Eve has not only begun seeing someone else but has had a second child with that second man.  Her reaction to Boyd?  Hysterical fury.  "Here's your shower, I hate your guts," and then she's so angry for days that she can barely care for her children.  She's upset that he cheated, but she's the one with the extra kid.  Yet he doesn't get to be angry with her.  Mutual cheating, especially when the "couple" wasn't actually in a relationship, just love interests, should cancel out the jealousy.

Also, scolding.  Same sim nearly burned down the house and killed her children when she HAD to leave food on the stove to scold another child at the very edge of the lot because he'd missed the bus and was late for school.  Then he's extra late for school because he has to jump up and down in front of the fire.  Then the firetruck doesn't show up for a loooonnng time.  A few days later she does it again, but now she's got a newborn baby out in the pouring rain to scold her son as soon as he hops off the bus for bad grades.  He's getting bad grades because of all that school he missed the first time!  I swear that some of these ideas are never actually tested.  Who would ever want their sims to act like that?

Also, the thing with the cheap toilet.  It doesn't flush the first time.  Got it.  That stopped being funny the second time I saw it.  Now it just wastes time.  Ugh.

Paparazzi! I keep getting invaded by random paparazzi... I mean one minute my sim is happily cooking or painting etc and the next *wham* there is a creepy paparazzi guy IN my house. I don't get the option to 'ask to leave' and I can't get rid of him without cheating.  :-\
I even befriended the paparazzi guy in the hope of being able to 'ask him to leave' etc but that didn't work. Maybe I should marry him and then kill him... >:(

That's as bad as the paparazzi who complain about the front door/electronic gate in the way of walking into the house.

When I play my dynasty file again...

Kev got so many phone calls from guys who desire his love and mostly it’s generated townies and a party guest who happen to be male and one of original townies who still exist from extinction also has love for him. Oh my god… I just wonder is he not attractive at all to women? It’s his love was taken by Holly because she was pitied on him?

And when I play a new game in Dragon Valley, I saw two female Sims kissing while Daric Ordhen just goes home after that. Similar things also happen in Monte Vista when Luis Toledo meets Gino Ferrari they have attraction to each other. Really… But, I have gone through that and that doesn't matter anymore. I have seen so many rainbows shine in my game… and have no choice to see the curse in my game as a blessing…

Well, look at bright side. I'm become more tolerant person than I am before because this thing happen in my game. I am annoyed a little but I have no regret :)

I am annoyed when I see with my own eyes that other Sims flirt my married Sims. Cancel cancel cancel. I’m glad that if they rejected them away, but with the one who couldn't resist that. My only option is to use Social Networking skill and make them stranger. Bye, that’s punishment for you ::)

I think some of these interactions can be chalked up to University if you have it. Non-played sims are constantly slammed which leads to some awkward encounters. This is obviously very annoying because why would want my entire town juiced all the time?

Witches annoy me, mostly because of how long it takes them to level up. Seriously, I just created a witch, set all her needs to static and high. It took her until Friday, FRIDAY, to max out her witch powers. She spent six days doing nothing but magic (high level magic too) and it's just, argh, I can max out a fairy's abilities in three to five days doing other things and a werewolf's in about week doing other things. Generic face townie soup/ broken SP is probably the most annoying. I would love, LOVE to see generations upon generations of DV kids running around without having to do much myself but no, that's not allowed. Sims not letting me cancel betrayed or break up or other such interactions are also annoying. I was playing them as an OT3 or treating one of them as a literal DNA donor - in my mind, their partner is fine with it. One last thing is that sometimes when townies get mad at one household member, they take it out on all the household members. Like, it wasn't this person who was rude/mean/woohooed with your wife, why are you mad at them? The mad sims sometimes won't even talk to their friends for weeks and if I go over to their house, I get the 'so and so is behaving inappropriately/is being rude.'

My #1 annoyance is the pathfinding AI. I get extremely annoyed when my sims stamp about and complain about simple things like not being able to eat when they have a plate in their hands and there's a vacant seat and literally NOTHING blocking them. This is in a household with only two sims. I can only imagine how chaotic and annoying it could become with an entire family. My #2 annoyance is the unending tide of phone calls of other sims constantly pestering my sims by asking them out on dates. It's ridiculous that I would pretty much have to resort to being a hermit to counter this.

there's an old game called Baldur's Gate that I was just replaying... GREAT game, but it makes sims3 pathfinding seem ingenius by comparison!  It's an rpg, and you'll watch in horror as one of your party members kites an entire dungeon taking the long way 'round!

I agree with you, sims often get movement cancelled or complain about pathing for no reason. Another problem it that the AI picks usually shortest way, which is not allways the fastest ones, especially in more complicated houses. Few situations it can get really riddiculous:
1) laundry. having multiple laundry bins around multi-story house will often make the sim going back and forth a lot, as it comes to nearest laundry bin with anything in, and so on. And that works strange with different elevation levels.
2) group of people going from same place A to same place B. All using the same route, causing massive delays as soon as the first one reaches a door...as such, the only party I do is wedding, and sometimes I just do private wedding to avoid this.
3) send a pair to gaze to the stars, they'll pick some random spot that the games considers outside, and end up staring to the wall most times, especially if you have a porch or balcony.
and more...
