Story progression often annoys me by it's lack of anything but clones and most of those are already beating at Grims door, but it just did the most irritating thing it has ever done to me during a game, half way through doing the Trapped In The Basement quest in Egypt it moved the house owner out  :o

He said the usual "I have to go now, I think it's time you left also." and I thought that was a bit odd but then I noticed the house icon was an empty house if I moused over a tomb wall, I tried to carry on but the game kept cancelling my actions and eventually it teleported my sim off the lot so I had to ditch the quest  ::)

Oh and I agree 100% on the mascot thing, when I first got Uni I was at a point of having a few dynasty spares near 90 and that camera pan always makes me panic thinking somebody died when it's just some silly Llama.

The constant invitations for Drink Promotions and to Eat at the Bistro.  My Sim is a World renowned surgeon...he doesn't need to be drinking.

One more... the bag over the head for "being falsely accused"  accused of WHAT?

Does anybody else think there's almost TOO much weather in Seasons? Sometimes during the Spring and Fall all the incessant rain day after day makes it impossible for my Sims to do outdoor activities. I know I can turn off some weather activities but I almost wish there was a slider that I could slide that had the options to go from "Little Rain" to "Heavy Rain" and stuff like that.

Not sure if this will help but Twallan has a Tempest mod.  I'm not very familiar with it as I got sick of the weather and uninstalled Seasons all together.  Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Tempest+Interactions

Or you could spend 40k LTHP and buy the Climatron Control Unit. Set the weather to whatever you want it to be.

(Personally, I love the random weatherness, it means I have to improvise.)

The smart phone. More specifically, the fact that everytime I let a sim stand around he/she always goes straight for that smart phone and ends up with the phone withdrawal moodlet which is a pain if he/she is always in a bad mood.

Social groups is another thing - especially when the sims I want to be nerds do stuff that raises their jock status. And sometimes it's just simple things like playing catch that suddenly makes them jocks.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but what really bugs me are some of the interactions between Sims being cancelled for stupid reasons. My Sim stopped a conversation with his future spouse to talk to some random acquaintance he'd met after fixing his stereo. I also hate other Sims who attempt really inappropriate interactions with my Sims when I'm not looking - like when I found my female YA flirting with an Elder Iqbal Alvi after he'd really creepily given her flowers. Wrong in so many ways.

I also hate how Sims will crowd pets and attempt to perform the same interactions with them over and over again. I think my Equestrian family's new foal was bottle-fed about eight times in one Sim hour.

I also second the trampolines, water slides and sprinklers. Especially the water slides.
'Well! I've often seen a cat without a grin,' thought Alice, 'but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!'

I've never had a problem with trampolines, water slides, or sprinklers, but I really don't like babies. Toddlers are fine but babies? nuh uh not my thing. I don't know, they just really annoy me.

Or you could spend 40k LTHP and buy the Climatron Control Unit. Set the weather to whatever you want it to be.

I was annoyed a lot when last day of spring it started to snow. Or when lake freezes over night, and stays frozen in daytime while it's 8 degrees...
Or in last game, after some time raining, my dog tries to go out on a road to drink from water puddle. Ofc he'll fail due to pathing, go back, and repeat that until I send him to do something else.
On the Climatron, not tried it yet as I'd most likely abuse it too much - my gardener gets up, turns on rain to water the plants, turn on sun so he can go harvest them...guess it would ruin my game too much.

And lastly, story progression making sim randomly switch careers with no regards to their traits. I build relationship with co-worker in cooking career, and he suddenly turns into acrobat.  Even more strange if the coworker was scientist and turned acrobat/magician.

Sprinklers are easy for me - I just plant my garden so that any attempt to reach the sprinkler will result in pathing fail.

The stealing sims for showtime careers really bugs me too, always losing co workers like that.

One of my Immortals made 3 simbots, they have to be released into the wild which is fine but now they are a magician, acrobat and singer, can you imagine  ::)

What's worse is they lost their simbotness and now just look like old people who have weird animations, their heads spin round and so do their hands, feet and torso, it's just too creepy.

Hi people, newbie here :)

I've read some of this thread - didn't have time for all 60 pages - and had a good laugh, so I thought I'd throw in my 2p worth.

  • In my current legacy, my 2nd generation heir keeps getting opportunities to cook food/repair something/talk to her ex-boyfriend. They had a bad breakup and their relationship meter is all the way in the red, and he's literally the only person she's ever received an opportunity for. The funny this is, when they were friends/dating/living together, she didn't get any opportunities including him at all.
  • In the same legacy, my 3rd generation toddler will get tired, and once she's put to bed, she'll sit in her crib screaming until she gives herself the "Rude Awakening" moodlet instead of just going to sleep already. So she makes her mood go down even more. Then she can't sleep because she's unhappy...I think she just likes making herself miserable.
  • When sims randomly scream "Whippna choba dog!" and start dancing for joy and clapping their hands. Fair enough if you just aged up or got married, but you're standing there in your pants at 5.30am, you're peckish and you really need a pee. You don't exactly have anything major to celebrate at this moment in time.
  • In the same legacy as the masochist kid and the woman with the obsessed ex, my 2nd gen would bring home the same two schoolfriends all the time. I'm playing a variation of the Runaway Teen challenge so my 1st gen was meant to be this antisocial hermit of a person who didn't like having lots of people around her, but no, her daughter keeps bringing the same two children to her lot day after day after day. No matter how much mom insulted them and told them to leave, they always came back the day after. Funnily enough, one of them was my 2nd gen's future ex-boyfriend - he's made a habit of being irritating in this particular game xD

Also, seriously ugly CAS clothes and hairstyles. I only have the base game, so hopefully when I get some expansions there will be nice clothes in there, but for the time being I literally never use anything that came already installed. I only ever dress my sims in custom content, because almost everything that comes with the game is just so...blegh.

I've never really had any problems with babysitters though. Every babysitter I've had has been - if anything - too interested in looking after the nooboo. To the point that the kid is screaming because it's exhausted, but the babysitter is still lining up "Toss In Air" and "Snuggle" interactions. But it's always fed as soon as its hunger motive drops a little, and it never gets lonely while it's being babysat.

Welcome to the forum, londonlassie!  Your post made me laugh - I loved your descriptions of the ways Sims can be so utterly, completely silly and illogical.  Maybe that's part of their charm?

I hope you'll enjoy the forum!  :)

Haha, the "Whippna choba dog!" drives me crazy too. Maybe we should learn to be more optimistic, like the sims?  ::)

Right now I am super annoyed by sharks. Seriously, how many sharks can there be in the same diving spot!? Today I had three, and my sim was attacked by all three, one after the other. They keep ruining my attempts to befriend mermaids too -  it's the third time I've been about to have a mermaid show me the secret island, and two of those three times were ruined by a shark! (the third time was ruined by an Error 12 of Doom). I'm not really hopeful about my sim completing his Discover all Islands LTW this way, LOL.
