LOL I know that, I meant it wasn't done on purpose.  :P

Still, I think the dating system needs to be more trait based. @Seabody: you think it's possible for EA to do that?

EDIT: Curfews in general are really annoying. My teens have a curfew, gets caught by the police, yet children and teens from other households are still out. Why EA? Why?  ::)

what I find annoying is when you have something major happen in the game ( birth of triplets, nursery built, etc etc) and your game crashes... and you've forgotten to save after said major events.  *sniffles*

When a sim is standing when you have an action that they are supposed to do and they just stand there. Doing nothing, for a million years.

Ok no worries!  ;D

Another thing I hate is the birthday interaction. It is so irritating when I cake up a kid or adult and it takes thirty minutes to cancel all their birthday interactions and as soon as you think everyone is going back to what they are doing they stop again just so they can go watch them age up. Especially with the baby boomer challenge I have found that so irritating! :-\

Technical Standpoint: Yes, fairly easily. Not sure about how they would implement it in a patch (but then again, I'm not sure how the patch works, I assume that they'd have a copy of the core files decompiled on their servers in California, and distribute them in the patch itself to overwrite our files). It'd probably be harder to implement in an EP, though. What they could do is have a list of compatible and incompatible traits (eg "Good" is compatible with "Friendly" and "Family-Oriented" but incompatible with "Evil", "Mean-Spirited" and "Inappropriate"), then have checks to see if the traits are compatible. I mean, in the code, you can see if a Sim has a trait by calling a function that's something like "HasTrait("Good")".

Marketing Standpoint: No, not really. They've released the system, and to them (or any company, really) it's not worth the time and effort to release a free patch to improve it when they can be working on a brand new Expansion Pack to net them $30 in sales per unit.

This has probably been said already (I read a good portion of this thread, but not all of it), but I hate how long sims take to shower, and especially to take a bath.  It's a little ridiculous.  And I agree that the birthday interactions get really annoying.  Especially when playing the baby boomer challenge.  So frustrating to have actions lined up for your sims, just to have them all cancel because you're caking up another sim.

I take long showers in real life and I'm still annoyed with how long it takes for my sims to shower. Maybe that explains why I often play with eco-friendly sims and get the expensive shower from Seasons. Those combined result in very quick showers.

I don't like the attraction system that much either. There's basically no sexuality mixes. If my main sim or any sim in the town is homosexual or lesbian, suddenly the whole town fits that sexuality. If not, everyone's straight.

I don't think TS3 acknowledges any concept of sexual orientation... they all seem to be pretty agnostic when it comes to the gender of a potential love interest.

I also really dislike the attraction system.  It seems far too stalkerish for this game.

Agreed.  I think they made the priority of birthday cakes far too high.  The game automatically cancels any other activity a Sim is assigned, including waking them if they are sleeping.

The relationship thing became so annoying that I was relieved to find a tuning mod @ Mod the Sims that dials it back from eleven to something more reasonable. It allows you to choose what factors are used to determine compatibility. You still occasionally receive unsolicited gifts from the occasional admirer, but it would be almost impossible to support a Sim on the income realized by selling them. ;)

OK so this happened in my baby boomer challenge last night. One of my teens got in a fight with some random guy in the hood and when she got home her mother yelled at her and put her in a time out. Number one hilarious to watch a teenager stand in the corner. Number Two a little irritating because until I figured out how to 'let her off the hook' the teen kept passing out and wet herself because she had come home to use the bathroom and go to sleep.

The time out interaction kept canceling everything else including if I canceled the time out interaction the mother would stop what she was doing in order to yell at her kid for getting out of the corner. It wasn't super irritating once I found out how to let her off the hook but I was going nuts trying to figure out how to not have her pass out at first!  So I would have to classify it as not really irritating but hilariously frustrating!

OK I have a new annoyance.  For The Sims 3 Pets for PS3 I sometimes use Karma to speed up a sim's learning speed.  It can be very handy.  Well, if you get the bad Karma reaction thing for going under the zero mark for how much Karma you have it is annoying because then when the Karma power is active you pretty much lose the learning speed Karma you wanted.

This happened to me yesterday.  I was using the learning speed Karma for my sim to study gardening and I got Ghost Invasion for my bad Karma reaction thing.  I couldn't cancel out the "Be Scared" action from the ghosts or the other reactions you get.  So annoying.

Sorry if my message was confusing.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I HATE this.  I had my stupid Sim late for work, starving to death, bursting bladder but the dummy stood still with the queued actions waiting for him to get a clue. Argh!

It's annoying when there is a fire and my Sim freaks out except of running.

I have a sim at home, a sim at a lot somewhere. I queue up an action for them both to get leftovers out of the fridge, and the guy at home just stands around until the other sim gets his food! Multiply the number of sims--it's a battlefield.
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

At one point when I was having trouble with that, I added a second refrigerator. If you have multiple refrigerators on the same lot, they become interdimensionally connected and share their entire contents, so you can have four people queue up at two separate refrigerators instead of all eight trying to get in to the same one.
