I think babies are really annoying. The fact that they're so needy and useless drives me nuts. That, and the fact that Sims will pick up a toddler every 10 seconds, even when it's needs are fulfilled. I don't think it would bug me so much if toddlers had the option to beg to be put down and/or even better, get a moodlet to be put down.

I also hate how they don't have any wishes. They did in Sims 2. So why not adapt it to Sims 3 with wishes like, learn to walk/talk/potty, escape from the crib, play with this toy etc.

Maybe if they could start giving toddlers more interactions, I'll like them again. I'd like toddlers to be meaner. An evil toddler could have a wish to swipe a toy from another toddler. I hate how they can't play in the sandbox either.  >:(

Don't even get me started on Toddlers. It annoys me too how they can't play in the sand box and why don't they have more toys like a little toy car they can ride and push along with their feet? It's also been way too long since we had any new hairstyles and clothing for them too.  :( I'm glad they are getting a rocking horse and new teddies in Supernatural.  :)

About the interactions, toddlers should be able to communicate with other sims, like hold out their arms if they want to be picked up, dance to music etc. They should totally have wishes too, get a start on thos lifetime happiness points.

I'd like to see babies out of those horrible little blankets and be able to play with rattles, be bathed and powdered too.

I love babies and toddlers but they are horribly boring and limited, not at all as interesting and interactive and realistic as babies/toddlers in real life. (I worked in a Creche so I know).

They used to be able to do all those things from Sims 2. I don't know if you played it or not, but I did, and I seriously miss their interactions! Even the splashing the toilets.  :(

I actually expected a lot more from Sims 3, when I first played it (I was a wee bit late. I started playing a little after Late Night), because I had fun with TS2 toddlers, (I mainly played with Beau Broke, as I've never been a realistic/challenge/family type of Simmer, and oddly, I'm female!), so it's natural to expect TS3 to be bigger. I played with a toddler, and I'm like, "Wait, where are all toddler interactions?" and it hit me! And I know this has been mentioned more times than not on this thread, but babysitters, babysitters and most importantly, babysitters! Davy Ramsey and Candy Ashleydale are the worst!

Davy Ramsey will typically neglect the kids, while Candy can't seem to put them down!  >:(

EDIT: I thought of another pet peeve with the game. (No pun intended ;)) It isn't so much annoying, but more odd/confusing, but how the long haired kittens always have flat faces. It's not that I have an issue with flat nosed cats, it's just a little confusing as to why all the long haired kittens start out flat nosed. (I shouldn't anyways!)

I've had much worse experience with babysitters. One randomly generated one in Twinbrook just stood outside the front door. I had to send the parents home so their baby wouldn't starve.

Did you have the door locked? I've inadvertently done that a few times.

Not that I know of, unless the house started off that way. Everyone else can get in just fine.

Yeah, I wonder why they left out those interactions. I mean, I guess I just expected more out of it. But I got so easily bored with TS3 Vanilla only, and had to resort to this website and mods.

After reading the 40+ pages here, the most annoying things in the Sims 3 are:
1 Babysitters
2 Maids
3 Pathfinding
4 Butlers
5 Animals
6 Story Progression
7 Autonomous actions
8 Babies and toddlers
Am I right?

Totally! Buy I would personally put Story Progression in number 1 LOL.

Oh dear, you mentioned Story Progression. I could go on and on about how the unmodded Story Progression is perhaps the biggest flaw in the game, all because it pretty much doesn't exist.

To keep it concise, if an open world is the biggest draw of a game, make things happen outside the active household. Like pregnancies. And marriages. Think harder about how that might affect long-term play in a town like Twinbrook, which has a disproportionate amount of elders and near-elders.

What annoys me about Story Progression is that what shouldn't happen, happens (excess of vampires, excess of celebrities and such) but what should actually happen (pregnancies, marriages, new people moving in... ) doesn't. I totally agree, the open world system is great, but it could be really amazing if EA actually took more advantage of it.

I defiantly have to agree about Story Progression on EA's Terms. My issue is that, they move out, get married, have kids without my terms, and it's not the way I want it. That, and it causes bloat. The open neighborhood is great, but Frey, you're right, EA needs to take advantage of it! I feel like, it was just done (what's a better word for it?), impulsively, and took no time on it, to some degree. Right now, I can't even do NRAAS until I have more RAM, or even a better system. SP is good for legacies or dynasties (no dynasties for me, I'm sticking with the legacy because I like my mods!), because you're only focusing on one family, but I kind of liked playing around the neighborhood for TS2. Well I can't complain too much.

Oh, and I wold put babies and toddlers for #2.

That just reminded me about something else I've hated ever since TS3 came out: changing active households! I mean, the open world thing makes it necessary that you have to change active households  and everything, but the way it's done in the game tends to interrupt the scarce story progression that the game has. I have no idea how EA could make it differently, but still, they sould make it so that changing active households didn't interrupt the "flow" of the entire game so much. I used to switch families a lot in TS2 but now I always tend to create brand new game files everytime I get bored of my current family, just because I dislike the change active household thing so much.
