These are just a couple piddly little things, but I come across them often and wish there were a way around them.

When you use the name randomizer in CAS, it randomizes both first and last names.  Most of the time, all the members of the families I create share a last name, at least to begin with.  It would be nice not to have to change it back.  Maybe a tick mark we can check if we want it to randomize as well?

In Sims 2, you could make a dog large or small with just a little button.  I haven't found a way to do this in TS3.  To make the same dog large, you'd have to choose a large dog breed and then modify it to resemble the small dog.  That's kind of a pain.  I wish we could just change a dog from one size to the other.

I just though of another one, as it's been irritating me in game currently.  I simply don't understand why the music careers - especially the symphonic branch - can't be patched to recognize instrument skills other than guitar as a metric.  Piano seems like the most appropriate instrument (available in the game) for a classical composer, followed by upright bass, while drums seems just as viable as guitar for a rock star hopeful.

It makes me cranky to have to raise guitar - and only guitar - for a classical composer, which is my favorite of the old-school careers by far.

I also find story progression in the game (without mods, I haven't used mods so I don't know how it fares with them) to be rather uninspiring and bland.. There should definitely be more things happening with story progression, or at least a way to tone it up or down (kind of like with free will).

Another thing that's kind of annoying/amusing is just how long the Sims take to do certain actions. Let's sit on the toilet (with our pants on) for 30 minutes, take 10 minutes to walk across the room or take a shower for an hour and a half!

It makes me cranky to have to raise guitar - and only guitar - for a classical composer, which is my favorite of the old-school careers by far.

I completely agree!

Mostly I can't stand that they use one of my favorite Matt and Kim songs in the game but made the words unintelligible.  Now whenever I listen to it in real life I sing it in my head as "blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah" and then it makes me sad.

I also had a butler for 2 sim days and he kept making food non stop so I fired him. Never again.  What a waste of food.

One thing that annoys me quite a bit is the time lengths for the ages set at normal settings. I always feel like I have no time to train toddlers! Therefor, I set my life length to long, and I prefer it much better. I don't know, I guess when my sims are trying to progress in their careers and have a family using the normal 90 day lifespan, I find it nearly impossible.

Also, I noticed a lot of people are saying their laptops or computers aren't up to the graphics, and if you're looking for a new laptop, the one I currently have, the HP Pavilion g6, works great. Occasionally lags, but that's pretty much it and only lasts for about 10 minutes. I will say I only have one expansion pack and it might not work with all of them, but it hasn't failed on me yet. :)

Automatic roof in build mode.  Unless you are building a rectangular box the result o f automatic is usually dreadful.

I do a lot of building, but somehow, must be my age! I forget to dissable automatic roof before I start.  I build the ground floor and try to add stairs, and of course, I get the message, can't place stairs.  I realise immediately that the roof is in the way, so I take it off and then place the stairs.  Then I realise that the ground floor is not quite right, so I use the undo, make my little adjustments, then try to place the stairs.  Yes, I also undid the roofs off.  So, I go to roofing menus again and select roof off, place my stairs and start on the first floor.  Then I decide on a little alteration to the ground floor so, I use undo .................................................. grrrrr!

The default clothing and hair switches upon aging up. I mean really...Gunther Goth loses his facial hair and slips into a goofy yellow sweater just because he hits elder stage? It's like that with everyone. At least they should have made the default clothing match with a sim's favorite color or something.

You can change the length of the toddler stage and each particular life stage now to what you desire.

I actually find the toddler life stage length to be a bit long. On one of my families, I had a woman want to be level 10 of some career and her husband had the surrounded by family LTW and I was able to have her reach level 10 and have 5 children (through natural means) with only one set of twins and without getting pregnant right before the birthday, not a vegetarian, no athletic skill, no tattoo, etc.

Yeah, that's what I end up doing, Ellenser. I just feel like 7 days normally is a little too quick. Does anybody else think that? LOL, maybe I'm just slow XD

Yeah, I know what you mean Cathair. I used to play on the Long life setting but I don't have the patience, time or desire anymore  :P

Indeed. Some of the fashion choices are just comical..

I think I prefer the shorter one leaving out how quick it is because when I do the long one I get attatched to that family! ^.^ And I wish the Fashion Police would invade Sunset Valley.

The fashion police need to set up base in pretty much all EA towns. Hopefully they have a special makeup division as well.

I have that too. It's a really good Laptop, and I've only ever had one problem with it, which is a non-updated Graphics Driver.

Yeah, I'm worried if I buy more expansion packs it'll slow it down and the lags will be constant. Do you have all the Expansion Packs? And yes, makeup should be helpful as well, considering all the normal colors are a bit rediculous. I find myself often using the color wheel to make new eye shadow and lip gloss colors!

It annoys me when my sims stand around wasting time complaining that their hungry or something, when I've already told them to cook something. :P

It also annoys me that my sim has to pay a baby sitter 75 simoleans for neglecting the children they're meant to be looking after -.-
