I don't even know how to install mods or where to get them from.

I discovered that if you use the Master Controller Story Progression mod, no-one becomes a celebrity! It saved my life  :D Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm yet to see a celebrity in my game!

This is because of the default immigration settings on StoryProgression. If I'm not mistaken, the mod is set to allow only a few celebrities in the town (or perhaps none whatsoever) and no vampires at all. Unlike with EA's story progression, Twallan's adjusts many things to let you have full control over what goes on in your game.

At least you can sell the skill certificates for 1k as soon as you pluck them from the mailbox.

My latest annoyance is the stray animals, not the fact they are there, but the fact that they immediately go to sleep before I can begin to try and befriend them, or they simply leave in the middle of the process.

I don't like toddlers and babies. They're a nuisance, can't barely interact with anything, and townies seem to be so bad at tending to them that just about every game-born NPC kid whose traits I checked had at least one sort of mental disorder. Or at least I suspect bad traits are more likely to crop up if they don't get their basic training?

I don't like rabbit holes. Schoolkids and career Sims are stuck in there for way too long, leaving me too little time to actually have fun with them (watching them sleep, sending them to the loo and cleaning the house don't count as fun).

I don't like how useless dogs are at fending off burglars and other intruders. Didn't Pets come with a promo pic of a bunch of Dobermans chasing a burglar? Our Sims can steal, beat each other up, cheat on spouses and neglect kids, but I can't have a dog defend my home? Meh.

I don't like imaginary friends. At first I thought it'd be amusing to let my first Sim-kid have the thing, but when she I saw her spend just about every uncontrolled moment going lalala at the creepy rag doll, I began to see red fast. Now I just keep it in a parents' inventory since I heard that even force-deleting it doesn't always work.

I'm totally baffled by pet spawners not being in CAW.

Also, and this is a constant irritation: I can't stand most of the clothing for women and girls, there's just too much stereotypically hyper"feminine"/sexualized stuff there. How many health-hazard high heels do we need -- even for tiny children? How many skimpy dresses and tops? How many skin-tight pants? I'm so incredibly jealous of the many awesome clothes, both casual and formal, that the male Sims get, and always grind my teeth because I so wish I could give those to the ladies as well. :(

Speaking of CAS, I often don't understand why an item is or isn't flagged as casual/formal/sportswear. They should just let us use every item for every outfit.

(Vampires and paparazzi I just disable, thanks Twallan!)

I have so got to upskill myself to learn how to do mods... I am so sick to death of Vampires, Celebrities and Paparazzi, that I've stopped story progression as everyone is a celebrity within one generation.  It really really killed my enjoyment in the game and I just give up on my dynasties as soon as one becomes a celebrity.

Anyone care to PM me with instructions ...  Talk to me like I'm 4 years old because that's about my skill level with computers ...

Vampires and celebs don't bother me. Using Twallan's mod, I keep the vampire level down and turn off celeb for most of the town only allowing pre-existiing ones to keep their level. I have turned some 5 star into 4 star, because they didn't deserve the higher level in my opinion.

My biggest annoyance right now is animals, so using a mod I have eliminated the number that can be spawned per household. Tired of having animals walk across the stage when my sim is singing.

What are you guys doing to (or not doing) to make vampires and paparazzi and celebrities annoying?

I ask because in my current Dynasty attempt, generation 3 is a child. Generation 1 is a 1 star celebrity, and the whole family only knows 3-4 vampires (and gen2 has the celebrity challenge unlocked in Charisma). Gen 1 didn't get that 1 star until a couple of days before his wife's death, and gen 2 and gen 3 have 0 stars.

(On reflection, it's probably because I keep the family at home. A lot.)

In my case, Shirin, it just seems like I can't play one family without them becoming celebrities. I have to actually put some effort into trying to prevent from gaining a star. Vampires, I don't mind at all (I'm trying to get one myself), but celebrities have gotten tiring for me.

I absolutely hate the vampires.  I wish there was a way to get them out of the game, off every single town.  If I play with a family who has one I make them stand in the sun.  LOL  I never knew I had such a mean streak but I hate them.  I wish we had an option to have them or not.

I dont really mind the celebrities, ive just got used to it now but it does annoy me that she is always falsley accused!
My main annoyance at the moment is that everytime my sim doesnt have an action in the que, she is eating!! Eating all her best produce that could have been used for much better uses! Ive had to get her to do some excersise because everytime im not watching her she is stuffing her face....

For me it's coughing when eating (that would be so rude and disgusting in real life). Drawer failure and getting stuck in elevator doors...

If someone is coughing while eating in real life, wouldn't that mean they were choking?

It's not very optional either to cough. I mean what if you have a really peppery mouthful - That makes me cough, Lol.
