Things that annoy you in the Sims

I hate it when my toddler ages up to a child and doesn't get to choose the trait that he earned. The only way I know to get it is to cheat.

If you taught your toddler how to walk, talk, and potty trained them, I would think his 3rd trait is for you to select.

Or do you mean that you select one, and it still doesn't show up? That's pretty annoying.

Babysitters are a chore.  Would it kill anyone in charge to program them to do what they're supposed to?  I need someone to look after the kids; it's only funny the first time when they don't.  Come to think of it, it's not even funny then!

Twice recently I've had the sitter leave the baby alone.  Once I happened to call early in the morning and the babysitter arrived right before 8am, so when the clock struck eight, he went to school.  The second time he followed the mother off the lot to get a picture of her because she's a celebrity and he never returned.  Thankfully, the game seems to give me credit for hiring a sitter and I got neither warnings nor a visit from the social worker.

Babysitters!!!!!! Too funny, following the mom for her photo. My Rock Star mom came home after a concert and the babysitter was in the hot tub and the kid was almost starved to death!

I have that problem too. A fire broke out from the fireplace in one of the bedrooms. After the fire went out, I replaced what was burned and cleaned up, but any time a sim walks in the room, they get the dirty surroundings moodlet.

I had that too, but I found the cause -- if you have anything on the mantle of the fireplace, that will be dirty too.

I had this happen with a fire, and what was wrong was that it was still dirty underneath the fireplace. I moved the fireplace, had the sims clean the floor where the fireplace was, and then the moodlet was gone.

Ah, I didn't have that, but that makes sense.

Shirin, it's a bug in the game. I think if I close out of the game and don't have the birthday cake until I go back in, it will work. At least it did yesterday. It might be a memory problem. When I played yesterday, one twin aged up before I closed the game and didn't get his trait. The other got his trait when he aged up after I closed and opened the game. I'll have to watch this to see if it's true.

I am annoyed at Townies who walk onto the stage at the coffee shop while my sim is performing. She stops and starts yelling at them. Even had a stupid cat fall asleep behind her!

Oh wow. I'm glad I haven't been hit with that bug!

I believe it only happens when you've been playing for a long time. At least that's been my experience. I have a tendency to go on all day marathons without closing the game...LOL

That happens at all ages, it is a very annoying bug! You need to use cheats to place the trait back, you do testingcheatsenabled true then shift click the sim and click 'Modify Traits' and then you can put the trait back. It happens every single time for me!

It annoys me that before Showtime and all it's patches, if you paused the game and then saved then the next time you loaded the game it would be paused. But now when you load a game it always is running no matter what. I was waiting for my sims game to load while having lunch one time and when I got back it was the middle of the night (the game had left off in the morning) and my sims were missing work and starving!

I've recently noticed that too! I ALWAYS pause before a save, and loading a game that is not paused is a nuisance because I can't leave the computer or switch screens while I'm waiting!

I've also had at least one toddler who learnt all his skills age up without getting to choose a trait. Good to know it works if you quit and come back.

One thing that really annoys me is whenever there is a fire in the house, your actually trying to kill your sim in the fire, and say you have a brave sim that comes rushing towards it to stop the fire.  I hate it when that happens! >:(
