One thing that annoys me is the misspelling of common names.  Like, in my current game, there's a Jeffery (should be Jeffrey) and a Jeromy (which should be Jeremy).  I don't know if they're trying to be "cute" with the names or if someone really doesn't know how to spell common names.

I'm not a big fan of the common generated names that are "adorable" like "Kailleigh", "Catielynn", "Davvie", "Robbe" (really "Robbie"). Plus, the revamping of philosophical words like "Genesis" or "Adrenaline" *emphasis on the third syllable*. I have SP Generated Sims whom are stuck with some of the listed examples.

I was a little taken aback by that post your cousin made too, actually, but I thought 'eh'. I am considered good looking by some, and my husband, well, not so good looking. I remember one of his mates commenting - wondering how 'such an ugly b**d' could get such a hot chick while the rest of them are still single. That attitude, I tell you is probably the reason why! The answer to the question: Guys that aren't as good looking have to make up for it in the personality department, and generally aren't such arrogant jerks as those who rely on their looks.

I think many of us can be shallow to some degree when it comes to choosing a partner - it's just where we draw the line. Sims 3 didn't take looks into account (even though sims 2 did) but they do care about money and personality clashes. Money and personailty is less controversial than being turned off, for example, by someone with different skin/hair/eyes etc. and probably a much safer route for EA to take than in sims 2.

The post embarrased me, so I was easily offended of her portion of her 9 year old mind.
 And no..not romance. #FOREVERALONE  :'(

The "Turn Ons" in Sims 2 were a drawback for me. I mean, Glasses as a turn off? OFFENDED. I'm very glad they didn't revive those elements with Sims 3. However, I didn't like the LTWs including fortune. There's like what..five? That also annoys me *cue on topic again*  :).

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

LOL! I've had this several times! Actually, though, I've had a huge laugh, at some of the AP names! Juanita Blanco and Claire Ursine both named their girls Gertrude. And there was a complete dynasty, I was reading, and Claire named her daughter Jeana, so I really can't complain at that one. ;D

Yeah, I don't like the way EA story progression works. It can be hillarous, but it really messes up my game, as I like to have things go my way! Nraas style is way better!

I played with story progression on when I first got the game.  I played up a few of my CAS households, then noticed that one of them had simply disappeared from the town.  I guess they decided to move or something.  Made me mad though, I don't want my guys going anywhere!  No more SP for me.

I wonder if EA got a long list of names from the Internet. I have an app that generates names from a database on the web and there's a lot of those misspelled names in it.

Fortunately for me, I don't get those names because I play in my mother tongue. EA's translators are not cutesy and it's much harder to do that with Spanish names.

@SaltyPaws and Simstar:

My 9 year old cousin posted that.

I deleted it (I have family over) and she has that kinda view on SIms 3: Wishing it was Real Life. She plays it with me.

No problem.  Thanks

One thing that bothers me is that I can't have the illusion of clutter in my Sim's houses. The current family I'm playing lives in a small apartment and doesn't have much money, so I wanted it to seem like her kids had to cram all their stuff onto a desk and two shelves, but it kind of backfired, since I can only place five objects with a ridiculous amount of space in-between them on the desk, no matter how small they are, while I could easily fit another five small objects in all the empty space.

Could you place them using the MoveObjectsOn cheat?

Last night while working on my Seasoned Traveler Sim:

Cue Sad Trombone Music..."Such and Such Sim was seen passed out"

Suddenly, all of China hates my sim. Suddenly, a deluge of rolled wishes to become friends with, pillow fight with and give gifts to the entire country.

Seriously? She was in a tomb 3 levels below Shang Simla covered in darts, all alone.

I guess the mummy she beat up saw it and called up SimsTMZ.

This is my love/hate relationship with celebrity system.

Trentorio, sitting here reading forum posts waiting for hunger games to start and laughing my head off. People looking at me like I'm crazy. Gotta love it!

This is actually one of the things I love about the sims. No clutter. Whereas in real life my house is a tip, in the sims everything stays nice and neat and spaced out.  Maybe that's just me, though!

It would be nice if moveobjects worked on shelves and tables, but it doesn't.

The constant corruption of my savefiles is getting pretty tiresome.  It's easy enough to back up and restore to a previous save but it shouldn't happen in the first place and sometimes makes longer games feel a little Groundhog's Day-ish.

Now that we're free to talk about mods, there is an item (which is kind of custom content, but brings new function to the game, so technically a mod) called an OMSP. It's an invisible surface on which you can place items. Its height and angle can be adjusted, and once you are happy with its position, set to invisible. These are great for adding clutter (or even organisation) to your sims lives!

They are available at MTS

Now that's what I call interesting! Thank you Chuckles for sharing this. Do you also have a direct link?
