It would at least be nice if punishment could be cancelled from a sim's queue.  It's a waste of time to have a perfectly happy family be angry at one another because Susie was nice enough to do the dishes after breakfast and missed the bus by a minute as a result.  Instantaneous anger shouldn't be the result if Susie tries to hop on her bike to make it to school after all.

I hate it when this type of thing happens and then biking to school is cancelled so the parents can get mad at the child, making them even more late, then grounding them, and then getting mad at them for missing school (because they are grounded)

I think the punishing system is a bit exaggerated. I mean, who gets yelled at for stepping foot out of the house, forgetting to clean the toilet, and worse yet: yell at an enemy? >_>

I agree with that. Poor Carlotta is always in time out because of the awful new punishment system. I'm writing a story for this forum about them, however, I'm waiting to get Showtime to go through with it and post it, along with at least HELS and TLS until I can really focus on that game.

The only thing I've ever had a Sim punished for was getting caught trying to toilet paper the principal's office.  I can actually see that, though.  :P

She got grounded for 3 days, and an hour later her mother forgave her before I got the opportunity to beg for forgiveness.

I never had excessive punishment in my games.  I haven't had kids since I downloaded the Patch, perhaps the patch has increased this issue.

I've never really had excessive punishment either, and at the time of installing Generations I had *four* teens in the house, so that's saying a lot. :P I have a child in my current household right now and she is yet to get into trouble.

As other people have mentioned, all the little animations with the toilet drive me nuts. In general, things just break too frequently. I understand it for the cheap stuff but for the moderately priced stuff it's also ridiculous. In my current house I call the repairman every other day.

Ok this is really my own fault XD I suppose I could splurge on a fancy graphics card if it REALLY bothered me, but I'm a graphics junkie and I've had a lot of experience trying to run my game at the highest settings. Oh the fun bugs I've had. It's made my game so buggy that I actually had to completely uninstall and reinstall everything TWICE. Now I pretty much know the perfect settings for the best graphics without breaking my game (pretty much everything is medium except for the high Sim detail) but it's nothing like what some people have...whenever I see pictures of the game at the highest settings it always takes my breath away at what the game can actually do.

@Lisey My laptop can handle nothing higher than the lowest of the low settings. I hate it as well, I'm always super self-conscious of the screenshots I take for my legacy and how mine compare to other peoples' screenies. :( I'm getting a new computer in August that can run at least medium/high settings but I'll definitely be starting off with them maxed out and then lower them as I go until I reach a state the computer can handle them fine, but this time I will not be standing for ugly graphics! :D I can't even run Pets, my graphics are so bad. ;D

Yeah, I've always been a bit knowledgeable on computers, but since I've only played Sims and Roller Costar Tycoon, and children's' casual games over the years, I never really payed too much attention to system requirements. The graphic intensity has always bugged me a bit after pets. Of course, I've been playing Sims for a long time, even Sims 2, and am used to the simple graphics of Sims. After the whole Pets deal, I feel like Sims 3 is trying too hard to be more hard core and graphic intensive than it needs to be. Now, in 2012, I wouldn't want the same old 2D graphics, and technology is always going to be more and more advanced. However, this isn't WoW, Battlefield or Call of Duty, where you need to have hefty coding and a complex program. Maybe that's why this game is buggier than Sims 2 was. I'm not bashing, only being constructive.

For the forgiving thing, it's best if you put a teen in a household consisting of 5 Young Adult and 2 Adult roomates. The YAs can be pretty dumb and scold for anything, while the Adults are calm.  :)

The maid, you hired, ends up eating your own food. Insult to injury, she leaves the half eaten cereal on the table.

Random music that means something but can't tell what!

Speaking of music, I guess I'd never had two sims break up before, but tonight I did it for the first time.  The girl was very hurt and ran off upset, and the music played, and I was very sad.  Sad music!  Did I make the wrong choice?

Well, I suppose if she didn't want him to break up with her, she should have accepted one of his three marriage proposals and not stomped on his innocent little heart.

Still, sad music!

Haha, "You broke my heart and wouldn't marry me so I broke up with you. But then sad music played! So maybe I made a bad choice...." lol :P

I think that it's pretty darn annoying when they climb out of bed to pass out on the floor! ::)

Also, I love Simbots and I've played a few. However, it's usually the LTR, so none of my Sims have very high handiness from inventing, so when I short them out to reprogram them, I always call the repairman. However, want to know what they usually do? Attempt to repair him/her, get singed, and then walk around in their underwear and eat my food until I fire or dismiss them. XD

Also, something I'm really upset about.  No pet bunnies.

This made me sad too, I love Bunnies, they are so cute, I really wanted one as a pet too. :(

I hate it when they do that and the lazy cows don't clean everything.  >:( This is why I prefer Bulters, at least they cook the food they eat & clean up afterwards!  :)

My Sim's friend became a Celebrity so now I don't want to progress the friendship any further because I don't want my Sim becoming a Celebrity herself. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the annoying Paparazzi & the equally annoying reputation system, stupid frackin Celebrity system!  >:( Do us all a favour EA & give us the option to turn it off already! I fear that the Celebrity system will only get worse with Showtime, I hope not.
