Speaking of pets, I get really annoyed when my sim's dog keeps 'reacting neutrally' to a dirty dish that I'm trying to get my sim to clean up, but the action cancels everytime the dog reacts. Anyone else get this? It's really irritating!  ::)

The architect career: inexplicable "squalor" issues, I guess with particular households (probably because they never cleared from before, come to think of it). Also when the game stops providing jobs at all. This isn't so much an annoyance but is still technically an issue: doing the same job over and over for the same person. For instance, that Landgraab guy asked me to make him a man cave. I got to the house and found he had one. So I tweaked it and blew as much money as I could on art to use the budget. Lo and behold, he's asking for a man cave again. It's now just getting sad. I have the same with a writing room for someone, but I think that one's bugged with the "squalor" issue, so as far as the game knows, it was never done.

Firefighter: I get that the game wants you to put work in, but who designs a fire engine that runs at like half the speed of a taxi?! Also, what are all those other firefighters doing? None of them help my sims out, even on huge jobs.

Ghosthunter: I can't even play this one because it bugs out around level 2, where you have real ghosts instead of just slimers.

Not being able to re-style things like chimneys.

Stupid sims who keep trying to put the toddler to bed when he needs to go to the bathroom or eat or isn't tired. Then complains to ME for making them get up again to fix it. Hello? I'm not the stupid one here, honey.

Babysitters...why is my child starving? Why am I paying you?

Edit: Another one. I think the bands put less effort than ever into using Simlish for their songs. It's worse than Depeche Mode's effort in Sims 2, and that was pretty amusing.

Macphile,

I had to edit your post for two reasons:

First of all, this thread was intended as more of a lighthearted means to discuss annoying quirks of the game.  We're all well aware that the game has bugs:  we all play the same game, so we largely have the same problems.  You're free to discuss bugs in any thread where it's on topic to do so, but EA-bashing is against forum rules.  This is not because we're happier with the situation than you are; it simply leads to unpleasant conversation and brings down the general mood of the threads (and anyone reading them) without providing any form of benefit whatsoever.

The other reason is that, as a family friendly, workplace safe forum, profanity is not permitted in any form here.  This includes self-censoring and commonly used chat abbreviations.

There's a link to the short list of forum rules in my signature, so I'd kindly ask that you'd look them over when you get a chance.  If you have any questions regarding these rules (or anything else), feel free to pm me or any other forum moderator or administrator.

Thanks,
Hosfac/Rob

One mildly annoying thing that also amuses me is that one Sim will get upset if another picks up the dirty dish that he was planning to wash.

Well, the firefighter's do get on my nerves! Had a birthday for twins and the cake set fire. By the time they showed up, the husband had already run to the shower to extinguish himself and I didn't know mom was on fire until Grim showed up. THEN, the fools arrived to put out the fire! Mom's dead, the kid she was holding almost died and dad was beside himself.

My issue with the firefighter career is the fire house in Sunset Valley. Who designed that? The path they have to run just to leave the fire house or just to upgrade the fire truck and alarm is ridiculous! It takes way to much time for the Sims to get around. And if some other Sim is in the way? Yikes.

For me, I hate when female Sims are sporting adorable clothes nowhere to be found in Real Life.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

I think possibly my biggest pet peeve with the Sims right now revolves around a single clothing item that's included with Barnacle Bay:  the pirate boots.  For some completely incomprehensible reason, the pirate outfit is designated as swimwear...including the boots.  Since there is no other footwear designated as swimwear, this means that any time a townie ages up to young adult, there is a 50/50 chance that those cursed boots will be part of their swimwear outfit.  I almost dread going to the pool sometimes.

"Oh, here comes Kaylynn Langerak...and looks like she's legal now!  There she goes to take a dip...oh nice, a black string bikini top and a pair of shorts....aaaaargh!  And pirate boots!!"

They have become the bane of my existence, so much so that any time I encounter a fresh adult around any town I will take them back to CAS on sight just to make sure they're not wearing those boots.

It really annoys me when those Generations maternity short sleeve tops show up as swimwear and the little girls (Kaylynn the TS2 maid, the Lobos twins, Tatiana Ianov, Sandi French, and Celeste GilCarbo mainly) age up with that weird Mohawk style. The only one it suits is Caroletta Schue.

Annoying things.

Sims get frozen. I hate that!

Other than that, my sim live near rude neighbors.  On three different occasions, my sim was cooking, work came around, she left for work, while the food was still cooking!

Needless to say, the kitchen went up in flames. The people next door went "FIRE!" Yet didn't even bother to call the fire department.

Another thing that annoys me is that your sims can ride a horse only wearing a dress.  No riding gear and what not. (I ride in in real life.)

Forgetting to flush the toilet. Then it breaks.

Shower breaks.

Cheap beds!

Annoyed that your horses can't socialize enough with other horses.

There's actually quite a few sets of riding gear.  There are numerous equestrian and trainer sets, as well as at least one jockey outfit.

I know what you mean about the boots and swim fins, Hosfac. My pregnant sims usually end up in that little pink top that doesn't expand with the waistline.  She ends up worth a "cut" opening that widens as she grows. Not pretty...LOL

What really annoys me right now is when random family members will put the baby swing on FAST and then make the baby/toddler nauseous.

Also I hate it when I am trying to make friends and the other (uncontrollable) sim has to go make food, or shower, or use the bathroom. It ruins my whole strategy!

I love adventuring but there is one type of adventure I dislike, the ones that send you to a person's home to look for a tomb. Because most of the time it belongs to a Merchant who is never home and when they are they keep trying to go back to work, kicking your Sim out in the process.

My poor Sim kept getting teleported out of the house (Tomb was in the house not under it) because the stupid Merchant kept trying to leave.  >:( Then when they do stay home they follow your Sim around and moan about them being inappropriate, grrr.

Don't get me wrong, I love doing adventures but sometimes the Townies/Merchants make it a hassle.

I hate the fact that townies call my sim at 6am, when she just went to bed 3 hours before! Who calls anyone that early unless it's an emergency!
