What's up with all the toy looking things that came with Generations like pirate ship and such that can't be played with, only viewed?

That's really confusing to me too. It kind of bugs me. I can't tell if it's supposed to be up for decoration, or something a kids supposed to play with.

It's decoration.

It's decoration.
But it's still annoying they look like the kids could have lots of fun with them if the game had allowed them!

I totally understand, Vegangeekgirl.  How difficult would it have been to give those few items the same interactive capability as the teddy bear or the toddler-sized IF?

Well for the twins with different signs, I use the edit in CAS  and give the second twin the same sign as the firstborn.

My current annoyance is strollers! The parents take the toddler out, carry the toddler up or down hill then stop and put the toddler back in the stroller! It takes forever to get from point A to B if you don't live in a flat town.

I haven't played with strollers for some time, but I remember my sims would do that all the time, even if they weren't on a hill. I thought it was a glitch though... but it was really annoying.

The autonomous scolding and punishing in Generations. Sure it's a life simulator, but please, don't be so over the top realistic with the scolding/punishing. It should be treated like Pets instead. I think Evil Parents should be praising their children for pulling such pranks-not scolding them! Wouldn't the evil parents get fiendishly delighted by such things?

Something new for me.  Kids can't ride horses.  There are little kids that ride horses.  Some learn to ride young, but also can ride with help from adults.  Wish it was like that in sims.

Also the bad parenting all around. When your learn a teen to drive and the time is after curfew when they are finished, the adult tends to just go home without the teen who are then arrested for being out after curfew and promptly driven home, scolded and grounded! Talk about not fair!
Also even if they are grounded they should be allowed to go to school!

I hate the hired help.

I Have had a maid who wouldnt do a thing unless my sim was on the lot, she got out to work leaving a pig sty, and come back to it. I checked this out and this made sat and ate only when unsupervised.

I have had maids who wouldnt do the laundry, the baskets all full and yet they would just pick up a pile and dump it nearer a basket in stead of shower or bed.

A butler who wouldnt cook (even when asked) but they did clean well, and kept on top of laundry.

A butler who would cook but didnt do laaundry.

When you make drinks the Butlers drink three of the four.

I do have a good butler for my rock chick sim, the butler has been brilliant, which has made things easier as she is a single mum of a baby and toddler

I recently had a fire in my household.

So,they of course freak out because of a fire and then hop right into it and get burned! I mean you'd think they'd stay a safer distances away.
I also really just hate that they drop everything they are doing to go see the fire. Then the family got in the way of the firefighters so the fire got even worse.  ::) Regardless, I'm upgrading everything to fireproof if possible, haha.

You would think they would have fire drills and roll calls ;D

They probably have the Spa, Grocery Store, Bookstore, and Studio as rabbit holes because you can get a job there and they don't want those to be like the jobs that came with Ambitions because not everyone would be able to use them then.
They could have NPC's or townies run them unless your Sim works there. When your Sim gets off a NPC or townie could replace them. I wouldn't understand why everyone couldn't use them. The way I suggested would make them usable at all times except of course for the bistro. I have made places with just the register, and unemployed Sims take the job of being the Cashier. The only time it's not so good is when the place is a hangout, because they'll stay there forever lol. ;D
We are of peace, always but this is war.
We are of peace, always.
We'll help build a resistance. We have to fight.

When all you've ever loved has been stolen from you, sometimes all you have left is revenge.
For the truly wronged, satisfaction can be found in one of two places,  absolute forgiveness or mortal vindication. This is not a story about forgiveness. When deception cuts this deep, someone has to pay.

Teens don't have enough fashion options in CAS. There's that ruffle dress from Generations, with the bow in the center, that I always want to give my teens for formal wear, with some Chuck Taylor's to go with it, but it's only in everyday wear. Then there's the Master Suite new hairstyle, the curly updo with the giant bow, that looks like a teen updo for prom, and I'm so bummed, teens don't have that option for that hairstyle. I don't get why children and toddlers will get some new CAS stuff, along with adults, but teens are left out in the cold.

For me, my performance problems are #1 (everything taking forever and occasional crashes). Then the bugged paranormal career--a whole job my Sims can never have. And the bugged architecture-car issue.

Beyond that, the game waking them up too late in the morning, the firefighters taking upwards of 2 hours to respond to a disaster (but I know that's "game time," which is minutes--it just looks silly when the day's half over by the time they get there), my sims reading all the time and carrying multiples of the *same book* in their inventory, the kids' TV sounds, the issue of having to be on the lot for a photo to take in the architecture career (which is an even bigger issue when her son's off fighting a fire, so I have two to manage at once), the hairstyles, the picking up food to eat and not eating it, the limited recipe options, and the difficulties replacing books on shelves (unless I'm missing something). Also, I think my maid doesn't show up sometimes.

And why is it that one of my sims is in town, he just reads a book instead of talking to people? There's something so unwholesome about a teenager sitting in a park at 11 pm, reading a children's book.

There's no cooking or gardening club as after school activities.
