The independent trait is great for that, but unfortunately I think it's outweighed by the fact that the independent pets in my game take forever to make friends.  I do wish they would get larger social gain from interacting with one another.  My cat and my dog are nearly always without other responsibilities.   :P  A suggestion if I may offer one: if you've got a toddler, even kittens and puppies can interact with them.  Since they're on the floor much of the day while your older sims do other things, four or five repeated sniffs will usually fill a pet's social meter and no one seems to get tired of the repeated interaction.
Yeah, that is true. I wished they had made a LTR that kept their social bar filled. I would totally save up their points to get that reward!

And that is a great suggestion, I'll do that the next time I have a toddler crawling around :)

Up until recently I had three toddlers (One of them just aged up) so I bought the Motive Mobile thinking I could take the whole family out for a day at the park. I got a pop up message telling me that I didn't have enough Sims to carry the toddlers and that one would get left behind.  :( Why could they just not put two of the toddlers in the van and then go back and get the other one? So annoying! Of course this may have had something to do with the fact that the park is in walking distance of their house so they ended up taking two of their kids in the prams to said park. (Other poor kid had to stay home with the Butler).

I don't know, Pam. It may have been a glitch, but he did get locked in, :'(  I had to reload without saving because I couldn't let him suffer. :'(

I'm not so much annoyed with this, but bummed. I'm really annoyed, and bummed that pets didn't have careers like they did in Sims 2. I'm also disappointed that there was no Pet career in the EP.

I think it would have been cool if the medical career added a vet career.

You could have used the resetSim Firstname Lastname cheat, that would have gotten them back to their house and in a safe place. :) Also, it is allowed in all challenges - in case you were playing one of those and so couldn't use cheats.

Walking the dog to a certain location. And then when the sims need to go they get a taxi and the dog has to walk ALL the way back home!

I hate that, kattiq!  I once sent my dog hunting across the street instead of in the backyard as usual.  When the sun sets and the dog still isn't home, I'm thinking "What is he doing?"  I found him halfway across town (and he's a teeny tiny dog!) and he still hadn't found anything, he'd spent the entire time traveling.  Now I only have him hunt on specific lots, so he won't leave.

I hate that when you send a sim to go on a stroll with a toddler/baby and then when you want them to come home they take a cab instead of just turning around with the stroller.
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

Yes! That has happened to me before too! The poor thing was exhausted and all his needs were so low. I was afraid the social service people were going to take him away before I got a chance to make him feel better!

I forgot about this.  It's annoy that you can't move the homemade pet food from one sim's inventory to another.  I wanted my cats to eat only homemade food, but the cooking sim can't always get to the bowl.  I've tried to move it, but it doesn't seem to work.

Yes that happened to me too and that's just weird, cause she only walked to the end of the street...

...but they'll use the stroller to walk the five steps from the sidewalk to the porch once they get out of the cab.

Gosh, I feel like I'm always letting you guys know of my annoyances all the time from this game!
So here is yet another one...

I hate that when you are in portrait mode (for painting) you can't rotate or try to get any good angle on your subject, and it always makes horrible paintings! Especially for your Dynasty museums..All of my portraits come out with the subject's face from the neck up, and it just looks awful.

I have the same trouble in the stylist career when taking pictures for my sim's portfolio.  Thankfully, there it's the picture that counts, not what's in it, so there are a lot of butt shots because that seems to be what the camera is always already aimed at.
