Has anyone had that problem with the babysitters? While were revisiting the same common issues, but the babysitters actually got worse[/i][/u] when I played with the expansion packs, mostly Generations. I made this really neat backyard for the kids, complete with a slip n slide, hopscotch, and a hot tub for the teens and grownups, and the babysitter was either: a) Sliding on the Slip n Slide, b) Jumping on the Trampoline, c) Playing Gnubb or Hopscotch, d) Swimming in the Swimming Pool, e) Lounging in the hot tub, or f) Swinging on the Swings! All except E would be acceptable during a DecaDynasty with the grown child, (the heir/heiress) but not when the child is in school and the nooboo's needs are hitting rock bottom!

EDIT: I'm also annoyed with the Vegetarian trait in general. As a real life vegetarian, I don't see how being a vegetarian is relevant to a Sims (or even a real life person's) personality. Even though people do it for humane and ethical reasons, I don't see any humanity in the Sims whatsoever. It's like EA thinks if a person makes a vegetarian mean-spirited, the vegetarian won't pick fights with other Sims, or he'll slap the person serving cheese steaks for dinner. Or if my Grumpy Sim were a vegetarian, the Sim will not be as grumpy. I really don't see much of a point. Maybe it can serve as a Sim's lifestyle choice rather than a trait. But when I update Sim me, I'm ditching the veggie trait (replacing it with Cat Person). I don't know if anyone in EA is a vegetarian or not, but before including vegetarianism into Sims, it should have been done under a real vegetarian's perspective, as appose to a stereotypical vegetarian.

I agree the babysitters are getting more and more useless, often they don't even go near the nooboo but amuse themselves in the rest of the house!

I also agree about the Vegetarian trait, I tried it being a vegan and all but soon gave it up. It's useless and also they eat fish which to me isn't vegetarian at all!
If they want to include it they could just stick with adding some vegetarian recipes to the bookstore. I rather use that trait slot for something more useful.

Where did you get the idea that EA thinks that?  I don't see anything of the kind.  Unless I'm missing something, the only things the Vegetarian trait does is make the Sim sick from eating meat and modifies the meat recipes to use tofu or something.  That's really no more and no less than most of the other traits.  For example, Never Nude doesn't do anything except make them wear a swimsuit while bathing.  And while it's probably not going to make you happy, when something is stereotyped, it's generally because the stereotype itself has been known to be true often enough that it can become a stereotype in the first place.

I know, right?

I hate when Sims play chess on the computer when I don't want them to have the logic skill. I also hate when they cook when I don't want them to have the cooking skill. Argh!

This. So many times this. I can't tell you the number of times I've been tempted to delete a save game because my Sim gained a skill they shouldn't have (which then leads to countless opportunities and wants about it).
Stop calling me! I don't want to make you cookies! I can't help it if my Sim decided that they needed that mac and cheese so badly that they had to make a full serving for the entire house (despite being a single Sim) and then they left it out so it spoiled so they had to do the same thing the very next day. >>

"I don't want to make you cookies!" this made me bust out laughing and I don"t know why. Maybe because its 4:30 AM?

Edit: Forgot a pet peeve.

I know its been said but the Water toys (Sprinklers, Slip and Slide) I hate them, I catch my sims changing into swimsuits and the get their free will turned off immediately.

It annoys me when I start a new game and my Sim gets a job, learns a couple skill levels, and then gets a bunch of opportunities that have them needing to go to other countries, in the early part of the game, where they don't have the money to go.

I totally agree! My sim, out of a necessity not to starve, has a level 6 cooking skill and now is getting tons of requests for food! I checked the other Townies and even those in a cooking career can't cook!

I understand that. It's not so much I'm annoyed, more bummed with the trait. I personally don't like that a Sim's personal preference defines who they are as a person (Sim). I do appreciate EA's effort to include vegetarianism though. I just don't like the way it's come across. If humanitarianism was behind the trait, they should have had the vegetarian want to buy a fish bowl every time they catch a fish or name the fish they caught. I just simply don't like vegetarianism as a trait. I just feel EA should have approached Sim vegetarianism in a different way. Like a Sim could go to the library or bookstore and read a book about vegetarianism, or learn vegetarian recipes, as VeganGeekGirl mentioned. I wasn't trying to bash EA, I was saying, they need a better approach to the lifestyle. Maybe a natural cook can be more prone to want to learn vegetarian alternatives. Again, I appreciate EA coming up with the idea that vegetarians will have the ability to learn meatless options with tofu, but I just feel as a vegetarian myself, all Sims should simply take upon it and learn the alternatives themselves, without having a trait to do so, and it should be something a Sim learns about and wants to take up on it without the use of the LTR Midlife Crisis. That's what I was trying to get at.

That was just my two cents. :)

On the other hand, I'm annoyed that my teen gets grounded from going to school. It didn't happen when I first got Generations, so I'm curious if this is a glitch, or done on purpose.

I agree with you, jeanamarie.  It's nice that EA gives a nod to vegetarians, but I never make vegetarian sims (despite being a vegetarian myself for many years), because I don't like having to use up a trait slot for it.  It's not fair that vegetarians have to give up a trait slot but non-vegetarians don't.  It should be a lifestyle preference that could be selected - vegetarian or non-vegetarian.  My other problem with the trait is there just aren't that many vegetarian recipes in the game.

Does the game count recipes that your sim doesn't USE meat as vegetarian? There's still quite a few though that in RL would be vegetarian:

Waffles
Pancakes
Fruit Parfait
French Toast
Autumn Salad
Grilled Cheese
Mac and Cheese
Ratatouille
Stu suprise (potentially)
Cookies
Cobbler
Key Lime Pie
Angel Food Cake
Cheese Plate
Crepes
Stir Fry

I'm not sure on some of the other foreign dishes. But those are just the ones that in real life would be ok for vegetarian. I think that's a fairly decent representation there.

Chuckles, I think Falafel would likely be vegetarian as well.  But that still brings the total up to just 17, and how many recipes do they need to know in order to complete the Menu Maven skill challenge?  I don't remember the number, but I'm certain it's more than that.
