I am recently annoyed by a sim walking through the entire house to turn on an obscure radio, and then walking away from it, not even dancing to it or anything. They just turn it on and walk away.

It annoys me when Sims will walk from one side of the house to the other, just to turn off the radio. I mean it's not like I was listening to that song or anything. *sarcasm*

For me, I hate how sims can't feel our pain..physical wise. I mean, they don't have to spend 15 minutes so far trying to swallow a Motrin pill for Oral Discomfort, caused by 8 spacers in the mouth. They don't have to suffer from allergies and runny noses. They don't have to gag or choke. I'm jealous of sims.

Well sims gag and choke sometimes when eating, and they do have to swallow giant pills from a doctor. But I know what you mean about all the other stuff. Sims don't have to worry about serial killers (except us ;) ) or anything like that. I do like that in sims they don't judge on appearences, just personality. I wish real life was like that.  :(

They don't have to worry about car accidents or other deaths..but choke on pills. Sims don't catch terminal illnesses or simple diseaes (i.e. Allergies, Diarrhea, Chicken Pox), and the life of a sim is so..careless! They can easily flirt with another sim in the acquaintance stage! I also wish real life was like that..but it's not.  :(

I think it would be cool if Sims could have mental illnesses. Well, I guess you could do that with the neurotic trait (like you could give a sim Neurotic and Neat and it'd seem like they have OCD), but it would be great to have the actual option to give them one of a list of mental illnesses.

Having potential anxiety issues, i'm not sure how I feel about this. The traits could collaborate well (Neurotic+Coward=Anxiety for me) but i'm not sure if this feature would offend some.

I wouldn't like that. I got into Sims as an escape from reality and it helped me feel better overall, so it helped in a big way with my depression. I wouldn't want depression to be a part of what I'm using to escape from it. :-\

Same with my anxiety and panic issues. A simming night before a presentation and some warm milk soothes my nerves. I really don't want sims to be very realistic.

Yeah, you're right. I could just imagine the outrage EA would get if they added a feature like that. I use Sims as my escape from reality as well and it's really nice to feel like I'm in my own little world. But honestly, I do sometimes get a kick out of seeing them freak out. It can be funny and it wouldn't be completely realistic since, as we all know, mental illness in the real world is not funny.

But yes, I understand what you're both saying. By the way, I have PTSD, OCD and I struggled with depression (and suicidal feelings) for three years, so I can relate.

Wow. I always thought I was the only one using Sims as my escape. I've been addicted since I was about 13 due to my developing social anxiety, depression and OCD caused by bullying. I'd hate to put my Sims through that. I can barely stand it when one that I've raised from baby to elder dies of old age. It's also part of the reason celebrities kind of irritate me (well only when they're children or teens). The last thing a child needs is a three day negative moodlet from being falsely accused and losing all his friends in the process. It hits too close to home with me and I try to avoid it, but it's near impossible when the parents are five star celebrities and I want the freebies they get. I do love freebies.

It's not?

I kid, of course.  I definitely think real life would be improved sometimes if we all pantomimed out exactly what we wanted and had little flashing signs above our heads telling others that we're tired or hungry or lonely.  Real people are far more complex, though, and don't give such obvious clues to their mental states.

Especially babies and young children. That's why they frustrate me: they don't give out clues to their current health state, nor do they have need bars!  ???

Well why wouldn't I like pokemon? It's only like the single most best thing in the world!  ;D

Something that I recent discovered that annoys me, is when my Sims cancel every action in their queue when they can't complete one of them. I mean, I understand that you can't use the computer because someone else is using it, but that doesn't mean you get out of cleaning the dishes, excersing, and paying the bills!  >:(

That irks me so much! Something else that bugs, though it is a minor thing, is how when a sim makes a plate of food, you have to tell them to grab a plate instead of them just automatically doing it. I don't mind it when it's a group meal. Usually when I have a sim make a group meal, they're not really hungry anyway. Everyone else is. But when it's a single plate only for them? Yeah, it's a little irritating.
