It could just be me who sees it this way, but what kind of bugs me in Sims is the lack of diverse hairstyles available to guy sims. With the girls, there are a lot of options in comparison, whereas like, at least 50% of the male haircuts (without accessories/hats) look like offshoots of Justin Bieber's '09 hair.  :-\

I think those pictures gave me heartburn.

I've noticed that, as well as styles that sit really oddly on the head in general.

I feel the need to comment, or rather vent I suppose, after reading the last few posts about genetics as I've just had a similar experience. I'm doing a 4x4 and started in Dragon Valley, while most of them born there resembled the O'Reilly daughter my first heir married they were all varied enough in colour and subtle differences not to worry me.

I'm now on my last gen in Monte Vista and other than the first born who was a pale green with yellow eyes and pointy ears the next three have all looked like her husband Orlando Romano, who when she married him looked good to me but he has droopy eyes and a down turned mouth that on him looked okay but on his descendants not so much, what's worse is he has a generic clone nose that I failed to spot as it wasn't so prominent on him but on his son and grandaughter it seems far more noticeable.

The grandaughter was doing photography and on a trip to China met someone I have wanted one of my sims to marry for ages cos I think he's a good looking sim and a nice guy, Liang Yat Sen, plus he has a cute nose and I was hoping it would replace the generic one, only thing his son got from him was his colouring, he's all Orlando  >:( I was so gutted by that I vented to my boyfriend for ages, even considered starting over I was so fed up with looking at that miserable down turned face but yeah I got over it, stupid to give up over a sims looks when I'm half way through, hopefully Lucky palms will prove luckier.

With hindsight I wish I had left Pets installed, I'd have got that nose fixed before it passed on any further but you live and learn, and feel frustrated in the meantime  :P

I've started a new 4x4 since I've gotten more EPs and worlds since my first. I started in Moonlight Falls and am now in Starlight Shores, and my sims have become generic, pretty, and boring. I recently purchased Dragon Valley, so maybe that will be world 3. It just seems that by the 2nd generation in a world all the spouse possibles are generic with strong, boring genes.

It definitely stinks. Someone looked into the code of the game, and there's a missing part that makes the game forget to actually randomize the faces of generated sims in the homeworld (China and Egypt are exempt from that, oddly enough; the game draws from a pool of faces suited to those locations).

And keeping the local sims looking interesting can be treated as a game in and of itself, but an annoying game at that. :P

It's the only reason I put supernaturals on, to try and keep the varied genetics alive, so far it's worked out okay and I've had original townie spouses only, but that doesn't mean my family have looked very individual mind you  ::)

Another annoyance to add to the list, family trees, one thing I liked about the 4x4 was taking the graves with you to keep the tree intact, but the game has it's own ideas and after the first move cut gen 1 and my founders off from the tree, his wife was still on it though, now after another trip everybody above gen 6 has dropped off the tree.

Only consolation is they are all dead unlike in my immortal dynasty when it broke and gen 3 kept hitting on his mother and grandmother  >:( I guess it's a little optimistic to expect it to survive 16 generations anyway, especially with moving towns and travel.

I often think I might try a modded dynasty at some point just to see what it's like without all the glitches and clones but then I feel those are half the challenge  ;D

I don't like when I have bunk beds against a wall and my sim climbs down the wrong side and literally goes through the wall and is in another room.

@Turoskel, Oh, man do I hate that the ID family tree broke. Gen 4 is completely on her own, Gen 6 doesn't register as Gen 5's kid, that is bad enough. The problem is that Gen 2, 1, and sometimes 3, in order of flirt levels, have taken to flirting with Gen 4 (which really surprises me, given that Gen 4 is Socially Awkward, none of them has 'love' traits, and that Gen 4 has never been interested in anyone period), Gen 5 became a RI with Gen 6 (which doesn't surprise me, 6 is inappropriate and a hopeless romantic), and 7 thinks 1 and 2 are attractive. It just gets annoying trying to keep everything platonic sometimes.

When I remodel townie houses, especially when I add floors, and I find that auto-roof is turned off. I have Seasons, so my sims get rained on and hot or cold.

Also, when I tell my sim to play guitar and she walks right outside into the pouring rain... and the other sims go out to watch her. Aaah!

My Sim was out on a date down in Smuggler's Cove in Bridgeport. He brought the kid along with cus no one was home. Two things bothered me about this. First off, when he and his date were romancing, the Toddler took a hit with both relationships and got the "Witnessed Betrayal" moodlet. This kid is a fresh new Toddler who can't even talk yet, how does he know what's going on? Second problem was that after the date had ended, he took the walkway home instead of the road. Usually he runs since he's a Vampire, but with the kid he was so slow.
Then another time, with his third baby, they ended up leaving her in the snow after Graduation. The older brother had been holding him previous, so it wasn't entirely his fault.  ::)

Children annoy me in this game. I hate the way they relax on the bed, brush their teeth, eat food, ride their bikes. I also don't like how they utilize objects like the tv. I can drone on and on about stupid reasons on why I dislike kids. Children are about 5-12 years old, so they can be babyish or mature at the same time.

It annoys me when my children and teenagers miss the bus by a hair and are then really late to school because their parents/housemates/whoever drops everything to scold them

Burrito babies
Lack of interaction with toddlers and babies/can't travel with them etc
THE BUGS...annoying game ruining BUGS
bad CC
endless amounts of thing on the sims 3 store that should have been in the EPs
lack of content in Eps due to so much on the sims 3 store
Things that should have been in the base game that weren't (its a laundry list)
I love CASt, but the time involved was annoying...it should be fun and less time consuming.
The routing issues...
Over abundance of annoying zombies.. I like the supernatural EP but some aspects took over which annoyed me to no end.
Not being able to make mermaids in CAS.....really why??????
University so many issues I didn't bother messing with it

I want to play the sims and have fun not struggle with bugs etc.

My current sim family lives across the street from the school in Riverview and the father is in the education career. The school bus and carpool show up every day to transport them across the street. If I send them early much horn honking ensues. It's getting old fast.

  • Sims who keep interrupting my child when she's selling cakes at home.
  • Constant phonecalls for dates (even during your wedding!)
  • Multitudes of dance requests when throwing a party.
  • Phonecalls seconds after throwing a teen party that the police are on their way.
  • Parent sims returning home from vacation and throwing their outdoor clothes on the floor then grounding the teens for making a mess.
  • Snow days preventing kids from improving their grades.
  • Mermaids swimming EVERYWHERE they go.
  • Sims turning on every single radio in the house including the room you're sleeping in.
  • Hungry sims autonomously making new meals instead of eating leftovers.
  • Hungry sims wolfing down fresh produce and dried food in their inventories despite cancelling the action.
  • People autonomously refilling pet bowls with basic pet food when the bowl is only half empty and they're already carrying gourmet food.
  • Toddlers being given standard baby food whilst your other sim is processing baby food.
  • Sims constantly drinking at juice bars.
  • Children made to "follow the leader" when you're trying to send them home and vice versa.
  • Teens being arrested at resorts, 2nd homes, or whilst staying over at a friends' house and getting grounded for it.
  • University mascots knocking on your door every time a child sim grows up (I already have 2 university packs from your last visits!)
  • Parties being thrown at a house where the sim has gone out for the night and later getting a text that they missed you at the party.
  • Zombies.  Need I say more?
