Things that annoy you in the Sims

This might be a trivial one, but I hate that cars drive through other cars and sims - why couldn't they have programmed in an "overtake" or "stop" command?

And it always looks freaky when cars drive over bicyclists and other sims walking across the road.

I now officially dislike meteor strikes, by the way.



Nobody was killed or even singed (I managed to get both Skeet and the family dog out of the way in time) but holy cow, the damage. It took all four of the adult family members half a sim day to clean things up, then replacing all of the damaged and destroyed items took forever, and everything that is damaged causes that lovely Dirty Surroundings moodlet until you find and replace the offending item. Sometimes finding the damaged items is a chore in itself--especially when some items don't really look like they're damaged (such as some outdoor light fixtures...who knew?)

And selling the resulting space rocks and scrap? Less than a third of the value of what had to be replaced.

So yeah, not enamored by meteors.

I am waiting for an alien visit or even a meteor strike in my household, but not the meteor nor the alien had come for 4 weeks already.

I really hate cleaning up burnt tiles (my sims are usually victims of fire or detonation, but the principle stands). It's guaranteed that half of them will be unroutable, and I just don't have the patience to rearrange an entire house just for clean floors.

I've never had a meteor strike on my lot but I've seen them around town, and boy do they cause a lot of damage. That's rubbish that they aren't worth much compared to the cost of the damage, does the game grant an insurance payout like when there's a fire? (Not that they pay out much either, just like in real life!  )

I don't remember if they got a payout or not. I was too busy cussing out the meteor and trying to stop Skeet from freaking out long enough to start putting out the fires.

Yes, you get an insurance payout, but no where near enough to cover replacement costs.

When you play normal life span in one file and then change to epic in another and go back to the normal life span one... only to find its changed to epic.
Is there a mod that will stop this from happening? It annoys me badly.

I dislike that I have to constantly make sure my sims aren't cheating on each other, if they are in my control I should have to at least start off the flirting so my people don't keep cheating, I also dislike the mail box constantly being full of love letters from other people, and the my sims keep getting asked out on dates I swear every 20 minuets I have to deny someones date request on my married sims, I do it so much that I accidentally denied a date request for one of the children (single adult)

I dislike that sims take HOURS to change into a costume at costume parties. Maybe it's just my computer but boy do I hate that. Also I wish my sims would use the toilette closest to them, not the one three floors away. Ever heard of hurry up you'll be late for work?

This bothers me too! I don't know of a mod, but I thought I'd let you know that you weren't alone in the struggle!
I play a game on the shortest lifespan, one on normal, and one on medium (Short Dynasty, Legacy, and 4x4 Respectively). Don't even get me started on playing forum challenges on top of these files! I recently started a full out Immortal Dynasty and I wanted to leave celebrities on. I did not want celebrities on in any of my other games, but whenever I go to play them someone will randomly become a celebrity, so I'll have to flip testingcheatsenabled on and change them back while going through every menu to make sure that everything is exactly what I want it to be for this file.
It's just obnoxious that I can't just open a file and play, but that I have to edit the settings for everything for every file because I want different game play in each!

Other things that have started to annoy me, mainly birthdays. I bring this up because of my short dynasty. With aging up on a 1/2/2/4/6/6 day cycle for just one Sim (not even counting many others) I have so many disruptions. I usually have about 8 Sims in that house too. So if one stops doing what I was hoping they would continue doing then I just get stressed out and have to micromanage harder.

Also, while I think it's strange and awful that cars will drive through bikers/slower cars, I'm completely ok with that, as sometimes it takes too long to get to a destination as it is without adding traffic into the mix! 

Here's something that always makes me upset, is there's always a house that will adopt cats, and cats will always have low social/hunger needs, and feeding them treats helps, but I hate when they'll come up to my Sim and try to mark them.
I love cats. Don't get me wrong. I'm snuggling my cat as I write this. It just makes me angry because my sim will always reject the poor dears.

Don't even get me started on my love/hate relationship with spiral staircases...

As far as I'm aware, lifespan, opportunity suppression, season length, and celebrity status are all global changes, not individual.

I usually resolve it by making notes for each file (I rarely run more than 2, though), and then when I open up the game file, I immediately change things.

Season length is an individual change if you do it while your intended file is open (it's global if you do it from the Main Menu). The rest are global, yes.

I hate how Sims crush on different Sims all the time. They can't like one Sim for more than one day! And it just clogs up my notifications bar so much.

I hate that "Saw betrayal" moodlet. Seriously, are our pixel people supposed to be so strict with who they flirt to and kiss?
